Young Shaq might have something to say about that.
Not even close. Shaq was something special physically, but he has nothing on LeBron.

I think James is clearly the better overall player, but Dirk is a better pure shooter and has more heart and drive to win imo.

That is the heart of James' problem. He has no heart. If you put Kobe's mindset in James' when it was all said and done, Jordan would be in his shadow, instead James may never cast a shadow. The little engine that could, but wouldn't.

The only way James would ever win a championship is if he joined forces with someone like Wade or Kobe. Someone who has the will to win. He definitely doesn't have it.

(Yes, I know that Mavs players probably do this too, but Dwyane Wade and Lebron practically do this every game)
Maybe the Mavs have done that in the past. I haven't seen anything that bad this series. And Wade isn't far behind. He got a ridiculous foul called on him in Game 3 under the basket on a rebound.

I guess if you can get away with that, go for it. But if a ref catches a flop, it should be a technical foul. There has to be a penalty for it if it's caught.

Or the refs could just not call a foul and let the player that is doing the flop that they are not going to get a call on that crap so they might as well quit trying it.

Even if he doesn't get caught during the game. The NBA reviews all the games, he should be fined after the game. It's a blatant form a cheating, it's bush-league, and it's detrimental to the spirit of the game. (not that any of that means anything to the NBA front office)

No, they will continue to try and evoke a call if you don't give them reason to stop. That is why it is imperative to punish players that do that. You punish players for committing fouls, you should punish players who fake fouls. During a game, a flop should count as a personal foul.

Yeah, but I understand that the refs can't see every angle out there. Even with three refs, they're watching different things. You can't just stop calling fouls. More often than not, they're legit calls. I feel like habitual flopping is limited to a few individuals, but the number is growing.

Lebron is 6'8", weighs 260 pounds, runs a 4.3 40 and has a 48" vertical. He is possibly pound for pound the strongest man in the game. He needs one dribble to get from the three point line to the rim. He has what seems to be unlimited endurance and has already played more complete (48 minute) games than MJ did in his entire career.

The guy is an absolute freak of nature and nobody has ever done the things he can athletically, at least not in front of a camera. Shaq was a freak for a seven foot post player, but he doesnt hold a candle to Lebron. Nobody does. He is basically a wing player with the size of an NFL defensive end.

Soooo... Why does he flop so bad?

That seems like a weird way to determine who is better. Most 7 footers arent brought up that way b/c its so hard to keep a dribble at that height. More and more players actually are developing those types of skills as the game gets smaller. You will see another Dirk before you something like LeBron. For example Andrea Bargnani has a similar style of play as Dirk. I cant think of anyone who can play 1 through 4 like LeBron and guard almost anyone

LeBron is the best player in the league BTW. All these people closing their eyes until he has a bad play or game are just ridiculous

I've never doubted LeBron's athleticism or ability, and I've always liked the fact that he rebunds and dishes the ball as well, but this series Wade is the guy that stands out. He appears to be the heart of the team, and the hustle of the team, and the intensity of the team - and he is the one that seems to understand the series is what counts, not individual moments.

Because he knows the refs will call it

I don't blame players for flopping, I blame the refs for calling it and the NBA for allowing it.

No way he runs a 4.3. I've found articles that say 4.6-4.7 which is still amazing.

lmao. LeBron isn't even the best player on his own team let alone the league. Dirk and Wade have both been by far the two best players in this series. Even if LeBron wins this ring it won't mean anything. LeBron still isn't even close to MJ. Not close to Magic, Kobe, Kareem, Wilt, Russell, Shaq, or even Duncan. The dude is a quitter and a choker.

Clearly Wade has been the better player, but this is much too harsh. It's incredibly far fatched to suggest that if he doesn't play to the level of MJ et al that his ring would be meaningless. The goal is supposed to be to win the ring, not to be MJ.

LeBron *could* be the best player in the league, but he doesn't have the mindset to maintain that level of play all the time the way Kobe, Jordan, and Wade do.

I am rooting hard for the Mavericks, but that might have been the last game they win. They HAVE to win game 5 if they are to have a shot. I just don't see the Heat not doubling Dirk from now on.

As if they dont seemingly collapse on him every time he has the ball already?

The fact remains that other Mavs have to step up and help Dirk out. If they can do that the Heat will get hurt if they try to double team Dirk too much.

Last night Marion, Terry, Setvenson, Chandler and to a degree Barea stepped it up a little. That's what we have to have.

I'm still concerned about how many easy buckets the Heat are getting though. We aren't clogging the lane or blocking out, and they are getting way too many dunks, lay-ups and tip ins/2nd shots under the boards. On the other hand teh Mavs have to work hard for almost every point, and end up taking much more difficult shots. It's going to be hard to win a series if that keeps up.

This.

LeBron is nowhere close to being the "second greatest player in NBA history."

No way, no how.

Your list is a good start, but just a start.
