Comparable Players​

Just ask yourself how many teams would potentially want him. Then work out how many of those teams will have the CAP Space (especially those teams able to spread CAP into 2027 and '28).
Then look at the teams who are possibly one player (Edge) away, and dont have to spread their CAP resources to cover multiple positional groups.
You seem to be working in the bubble that Dallas need him and therefore should be ours (at a sale price of $25.5m).

This is like the Derrick Henry situation, where fans saw him as a fit and just assumed that we'd get him and it's Jerry's fault we didnt...... Henry had a say in the matter and similarly Hendrickson is going to get a number of suitors willing to pay and probably a much better chance of success.

Sure, but Henry was there for the taking; Jerry made the decision NOT to sign him. I'm not saying $25M is his ceiling. I'm sure he will likely get more but even at $30M, signing him is better for our situation than Crosby IMO.
* Crosby .....you are trading a min 1st round pick for a two-year contract ( yes, I know it's 3 years left but only two of those are guaranteed). My problem with this is that it means we will use both of GB's first-round picks on veteran players.
* Hendrickson is just as good, yes, a little older but you're getting a player who can have the same impact, for about the same money, and keep your draft picks.

As you mentioned, I think there will be a similar bidding war for Crosby ( fans from at least three other teams are pushing a trade, and that's not including Eagles and Commanders). So the capital for him could very well reach TWO first picks. No way in hell am I doing that........he's NOT on Myles Garrett level.

Pickens. we need to maintain the high power in this offense AND improve our defense greatly. That does not happen without a WR on the caliber of Pickens opposite Lamb. Jerry is just going to have to suck it up, find some money and do it.

It's not about finding money, it's about staying within the salary cap. If the Cowboys go significantly over the cap, the league could heavily fine the team, take away draft picks, void player contracts and even ban them from signing additional players.

Crosby needs knee surgery. Another problem with the Jerry Jones is he continues to try to take a shortcut
and get players that are injured. Wasted draft capital on Jaylon Smith, Leigh VanEsch(sp), Sean Lee, Revelle.
Jerry tries to take short cuts and tries to find players, who are cheaper to try to strike gold. Now, it did work with RB Williams from Denver but far more time than not, it back fires

- how many teams need an Edge
- how many teams need an Edge and are way closer to competing for rings
- teams with available CAP in 2026 (and 2027, being the second year when salary increases)
- If you're mentioning $100m available, be sure to do the same 'restructuring' for the other 31 teams
- how many of these teams need to spread their CAP spread to cover: RT, 2 CB's, 2 Safeties, a LB, RB...... and they're just the Starters.

Without looking i'll guess the Rams as a better fit for Hendrickson based on the above.


You've missed the point about Henry. We lost out on Henry because there was a team (with an MVP QB, infinitely better running game, all-round roster and prospects of a ring)..... we were a team that was hammered at home by GB and the optics/rumors were indicating a possible tear down. Now there will be those that will say Jerry wanted Zeke.....I doubt it, he was left with Zeke because he couldnt get Henry.

I'd hold on to Steele for now and make someone beat him out for starting right tackle before either trying to trade him or cut him. His base does not guarantee, so even if we get rid of him in camp, we save his $13 million base.

I wouldn’t. Steele is the #1 issue with our pass protection. He does run block decent but even that is slipping. I do like competition though so your premise here seems good.

I’m just so sick of the qb having to scramble due to immediate pressure on right side . I wonder id moving guyton over is a good move. Defense should be priority 1 this off season so with few picks they need to smart

Wales......You are misunderstanding the Henry situation. He WANTED to play for Dallas but Jerry never reached out to him. I'm not making this up...... It's well known. Plenty of receipts out there.
