I know that, the thought process of moving some of our Big DE's to TE was lost on most...... After Canty and Ratliff start making plays in games everyone will say "it was obvious".
IF, and that's a big IF Canty or Ratliff actually get used as a TE on an actual GAME, than you can crow.

Or maybe the point Bill was making (followed up by Mickey) re the importance of having a big blocking TE for drills in practice so the D can experience what it's like to block a big body in such a scenario was lost on you.

Jason isn't going to used for camp fodder because Dan and Sean are out with injuries.

And apparently Pierce isn't known for his blocking. I believe Curtis is more the receiver type too.

So Ratliff, reputedly a "bubble player" is earning his keep.

That doesn't mean either he or Canty will be lining up at TE in any actual game situation.

Yeah but you said Canty and Canty hasnt. He probably hasnt for exactly the reasons that we stated,

Ratliff was not your call. Spears wasnt your call.

Canty was.

Hos is a jokester - You and he were "adament" that Parcells would never move players around like this. In Fact Hos went as far to say "Prosecution rests". Unfortunately his smugness didn't realize his case would fall apart!

Parcells is moving His Big Dline to TE and FB! HYBRID PLAYERS, MULTI TASKING. I LOVE IT!!!!! Situationally getting his best athletes on the field in situational spots.

It was Speedkilz that gets the Props on Ratliff. He noted his TE experience. I'd pay to watch Als Try and block Rat.

Sweet - I was spot on situationally using our Big athletes on Offense. Canty and Ratliff were both bitime football players in high school who played TE. Canty played TE some at UVA. Great to see Big Bill doing this!

For some absurd reason, I don't think it was as much creativity and taking notes from the likes of Nors, but more the fact that we have two healthy TEs after Ryan broke his foot.

Show me the post(s) where I was "adamant" Bill wouldn't make do when injuries or any other eventuality arose.

The word I most often attach to Bill is "pragmatic".

But when Dan is back, knowing his skills and how Bill esteems him, I don't think we see any TE in the red zone but the usual suspects...Dan, Jason, Jeff.

It's good to experiment a la Belichick, but on game day Parcells will have the best player out there for every "situation".

Which means he plays Dan when he needs a smart experienced blocking TE who won't make a mistake when a score is on the line.

I posted the link - It was halfway through. You and Hos were really smug and condescending.

Parcells is doing it pure as day in camp. We shall see! All I ever said was Situationally!

I would like to read what your views are of Jeff Robinson situationally this season.

{BTW, I know he has me on ignore, so I doubt there'll be a response.}

What seems to be lost in all this crowing and slapping back are the facts.

From all accounts the goal line offense was struggling.

Campbell was out and Ryan got hurt.

So our two best blocking TEs are out and we can't punch it in, hmmm, what to do, what to do?

I have an idea, maybe you take your 3rd string DT and your 4th string DT/DE...two guys you like who will be on the bubble to make the final roster...and see if you can add some value to them.

Now back to the usual, crowing BS.

Point out the "adamant" post number. I'm always smug and condescending.

Nors, I saw Bill use Bryan Cox on goal line stands in NY. Or at least consent that his DC Mumbles do so.

It is NO big deal. He has used defensive players as offensive players on the occasional 'situational' play for years.

What sets people's teeth on edge is you reinventing the wheel with one particular player (in this case Canty), and proclaiming it a sign of your genius, when, in reality, if the man works out of a te slot three times in his pro career, it will be something.

And I must be nuts too if with all this news, I am keeping this going with you.

Nors is neither creative nor insightful. He merely throws darts. And that's fine. He's going to hit some. Hell, we all do. But not everyone here points to their "hits" and then shouts from the mountaintops for the rest to bear witness to - all day, everyday.

LOOK AT ME! I GOT ONE. FINALLY. I AM A FOOTBALL SAVANT. I HAVE SOURCES. THEY TELL ME THINGS. I WANT ATTENTION. HERE I AM. HERE! AND OH, BTW, I AM GOING TO REPEAT THE SAME THING EVERY HOUR ON THE HOUR JUST IN CASE THE ATTENTION WANES.

We all like to thump our own chests when we call something correctly. But I must confess, this guy has taken it darn near to an art form.

Yeah, but some of us still love him for the sheer enjoyment his schtick gives us.

If we didn't, we're double the fools to play along :)

No he didn't mention Ratliff

End of story.

If I predict a 13-3 season, and the Cowboys end up with a 12-4, my prediction isn't made right just because there's some similarities (winning season).

Its all in fun and football, Dallas football. I argue strongly that I just "thow darts". In my two years here I have well thought out opinions, predictions and my track record is candidly More right than wrong. I have as much Parcells knowledge and exposure as ANYONE on this board. I grew up outside NYC in Ct and saw all the Parcells antics with Giants. I saw first hand all Pats happenings in Tuna stay. Watched the Jets years and now his Dallas era.

Fascinating individual! And we are ready for a ride in 2005. We need a Kmart like punt return or a big play to put this team over the top. I see potential for something special happening.

On Nors - for every post I generate - there are usually 5 replies. Some good and some bad - it runs the gammut!

Trolls tend to generate alot of replies, too. Focus more on the reasons and the quality of the replies... not the numbers.

Well, I am waiting for him to give me some props for trying my darndest to reverse a 13 year dislike of Bledsoe (dating back to when as a rookie I felt he wasn't giving Parcells sufficient respect), and support the man as the Dallas QB. Not only have I left off bashing Drew, I am brainwashing myself into 'liking' him.

Instead , Nors gives me some crap about Vinnie.

Maybe I should stay in the Winicki camp where, ideologically, I belong. :D

Poor Mikey must feel abandoned.

But he'll have plenty of company soon enough, I reckon. ;)
