All in fun LTN -

I just don't see anything in VT. I try and temper my VT bashing but he and Bledsoe are at two different talent levels - but thats just my opinion. Its cold in Canada with Miki!

I would like to read what your views are of Jeff Robinson situationally this season.

{BTW, I know he has me on ignore, so I doubt there'll be a response.}

I have no one on ignore

Only poster I ever put on ignore was BlindZebra, Tried to put Hos on but you can't put a mod on ignore I found. Someone working on that glitch?

Robinson is an old (35?) Long snapper and overpaid.

He's only 2 years older than Bledsoe, and with less on the field time (less wear/tear).

Sweet - I was spot on situationally using our Big athletes on Offense. Canty and Ratliff were both bitime football players in high school who played TE. Canty played TE some at UVA. Great to see Big Bill doing this!

Canty never caught a pass at UVA according to the University site.

Care to put forth some proof to Canty playing TE in college, or did you get this from that "source" that said we were trading a 2nd for Law?

He did post an article stating that Canty did play goalline TE a couple times for Groh.

I remember it was after your little "Bring It" thread of chest thumping and your view of all you had gotten right.

I brought it, and discredited 99% of your list of "spot on".

Funny you act as if you are the Ted Williams of the prediction world, too bad that in reality you are hitting under a buck fifty.:D

Winicki's is the ONE opinion I NEVER sell short.

He was right about everything last offseason.

Everything...from our inactivity in preseason, to what would happen to Tnew with Mario gone and no dbs experienced, to Dat Dud to the "Corpse".

I knew Wiley stunk in SD but I thought Bill could get more out of him than Schottenheimer did, and to I knew that EG was no longer a starting quality runner, he had more in his gas tank left than he did.

Mike saw it all and predicted it all, even down to the domino effect from Darren.

He saw it all because he recognized better than many of us what 03 had really been.

Yes, a good coaching job, but far more an easy schedule, a relatively injury free year, and the D giving off better vibes than should have been believed.

But he didn't try to convince himself as I did that Tuna could get more blood from those stones...talent had to be upgraded in too many places by too many levels.

He predicted EXACTLY what transpired...that a few key injuries would sink our ship.

Cripe, Mike should have been the HC last year, not Tuna.

Excluding the age comment, you're wrong on both points.

First, Robinson is not solely a long snapper. While he's primarily used as a long snapper, he is also a tight end who has been used before and after he joined the Dallas roster as a short-yardage, situational receiver--generally within the redzone.

Secondly, he has been paid for his skills at both positions. Arguably, Mike Bartrum is the best LS in the game. He's going to pocket $765K this year from the Eagles. Robinson is only netting $335K more than him.

Maybe... possibly... Robinson's contract numbers are legit for what he has been (and will probably continue to be) asked to do on the field. But I do know that there are fans who agree with you that Robinson is vastly overpaid.

Since I was there with him on most of that, do I get to be Zimmer?:D

I have no problem with his salary - he is nearly perfect, or at least as near perfection as you can ask for. I have no problem paying for that. If I could get cheaper, of course I would, but I still remember what it was like before he got here.

I wouldn't cut him just because his salary was high - he's too good at his job. And I am including the TE role. I certainly wouldn't stop him from playing TE just because I want to see Canty there.

To sum it up - if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

B. you give me far too much credit.

It has nothing to do with "brains"... my wife will tell you that. :D

It's just from being in the business world and constantly having to strip down the hype of things to see what the core really is.

Plus I'm a marketer by trade. I can spot spin and hype from miles away.

People are much happier slightly (or sometimes more so) distorting realitly so that it neatly fits into their view of the world... not how it actually is but how it should be.

Sometimes that causes problems with other fans... oh well, that happens.

I missed that.

It really no big deal. It never said that he ever did it for more that a few plays on the goalline.

Nors started about having Canty play TE because he would matchup well as a receiver.

Now hes congratulating himself because different defensivelinemen were brought in as blockers on a goalline drill.

I wasn't here at the time. I think I lurked here and there, but I don't remember much from this board at the time.

One thing I do remember - you were spot on about Julius.

It kinda makes me wonder - was Ratliff playing the TE on goalline before or after Sean Ryan got injured?
