Not really, punk...it's just a poke in your ribs about Pacman needing to "restore his livelihood". It's on par with the stupid comments made from NFL or other rich athletes that always proclaim, "I can't feed my family on 7 mil a year, I need at least 12 mill...!

Pacman needs to restore his life FIRST, then he can worry about "restoring his livelihood"...you cannot live a life the way he does and have a "livelihood".

It didn't make any sense, given what I posted. I didn't say anything about him not being able to feed his family. (hence - fail). Regardless of the type of life he is leading, he does have the right to fight for his livelihood.

Which is why I wondered how burmafrd came up with the theory that doing so would somehow "prove his stupidity" (whatever that means...). I suspect I know how, but that is neither here nor there.

Sounds like a cowardly route to me. If he believes he is being wronged, he has every right to attempt to rectify the situation. That in no way proves his stupidity. Heck, if he didn't attempt to salvage his season, and his money, THAT would prove that he's an idiot. If he takes legal action, he's just doing all he can to benefit himself.

they are trying to change a contract and apply it to prior acts. i would take it to court too.

ever heard of the court system? all he has to do is prove that the NFL cannot change the contract concerning conduct and then apply it to previous acts. you realize that hes got his own lawyer and is acting outside of the NFLPA dont you?

Has anyone heard what is happening in the case in Las Vegas about Pacman? He still has to worry about that too, right?

Did charges get filed? I know they were suggesting that charges should be filed against him, but, I have not heard anything else.

So depending on that situation, his problems with the NFL might be a moot point anyway at this time...

its funny that anyone would think that acting contrite and playing the game is not the smart thing to do right now. But I guess a lot of people are really naive about how the current world works. Superpunk is kind of funny in that he is really out there alone claiming it does not matter what someone does outside of the field; then he says he should fight this in court. He has no chance of winning in court- not with his record. But I guess its fine to waste more money and time fighting something you cannot win rather then play the game and dance to the tune you need to dance to.

The deal is, burmafrd, IMO, is that Pacman is not the one, or the smartest one, to be making any decision about what to do. His agent and lawyers are the ones that will try what they can to get him off the hook, or get his suspension reduced. You think they don't see the money that Pacman has?

They are not going to tell him to just man it up, take your punishment, take time off to get your priorities stright, reflect on what your life is all about up to this point...no, they are going to file paper after paper and earn probably $300.00 per hour doing so...and rack up a few hundred hours!

But, I somewhat agree with you. If my son were in this kind of mess, and he had the money to kick back a year and take his punishment like a man and get his life stright, that's what I would tell him to do.

Pacman is not hurting for cash, he's hurting for life. If he does not get stright, eventually someone will probably take him out, or he ends up in the slammer...

By his attorneys and his agent still trying to get his punishment reduced or whatever, they are just still babying him like he is used too from high-school up until now! Someone has to step up and put him in his place. Same goes for alot of other rich athletes. Stop babying these misfits and make them responsible for themselves and to act like men that actually contribute something to society besides some damn football game.

He is not allowed to play the game. He should act contrite (even though you have already declared it to be a worthless show), but I fail to see how that precludes him from taking any and all steps he can to get back on the field this year. And I fail to see how doing so "proves his stupidity."

I am having difficulty deciphering this, although the appeal to popularity makes me think I don't want to anyway. I do know that I have never said that it does not matter what someone does off the field. Not one single time. (Using the quote function may help you keep track of this.)
