Maybe The Defense Is Better Without Law and Parsons?

I know it's a tiny sample size, but maybe the defense is better, or at least not worse, without the star book-ends.

Maybe they play with more discipline.

Maybe these other guys playing for their NFL lives have more hunger and fight in them.

And just maybe this defense is more coachable without the stars taking up too much mental space.

I know it's a crazy thought, and I know Fields left some "meat on the bone" yesterday (he missed a few throws to open receivers)...but the defense just looked more solid yesterday, with Overshown flying around and being more of the leader with Micah and D Law out. I like it. Let's see if they can play well next week too.
NOPE,

all three of our wins were on the road and all very similar.. so the Browns and NYG with Parsons and Tank were just as good..

lets see them play the ravens, Washington/Philly type Offenses before we make these ridiculous overreactions.

small sample size, you answered your own ?????????????? LOL

Parson has been a selfish player lately put the rest of the defense in a jam. He is a linebacker not a defensive end.

The run defense held the Giants to 1.1 YPC with Micah on the field. I think too much is being blamed on him here. Other players like Mazi have stepped up some to help the run defense. The key to run defense in Zimmer's scheme is the linebackers. The DTs have to keep the offensive line off the linebackers or the scheme is going to fail. The linebackers have to read their keys and hit the right gap or the scheme is going to fail. We're learning a new scheme, so some hit and miss should have been expected early.

Zimmer essentially said that he was trying to mesh some of the things we were doing under Quinn with the things that Zimmer does. I don't think it was working the way that we hoped, which is probably why we saw Parsons line up more at end against the Giants.
Our defense has been front runners for a long time. If we are ahead and Micah is pass rushing he’s going to be a star. But if we get behind, we have been toast for a long enough sample size with parsons in the game. I won’t say the total blame is on Micah but he certainly hasn’t helped. If he were more willing to help the team stop the run I’d give him more of a pass. If the jones ever get the balls to trade him, I 100% believe it’s addition by subtraction. He’s simply not worth the headache and drag on the culture for his 13 regular season sacks a year, especially when we have too many deficiencies on offense to rely on playing ahead with Micah.

Will someone please acknowledge the fact that the run defense was considerably better against NYG than PITT so we can lock the thread and stop this nonsense.

It sure looked like it last night with the way the D-Line was getting off fast and very disruptive! Those boys were the reason the Cowboys won last night, because the way Prescott was trying to give the game away was absolutely insane! Thank God he overcame his mistakes to help lead the Boys to victory!

I actually didn't pick either team to win last night...here was my take on it https://cowboyszone.com/threads/dallas-winning-ugly-games.528077/post-13777542. No agenda here. I just don't believe that this defense will play as well as it did last night without DLAW and Parsons and Kneeland and whoever else we lost to injury going up against one of the better offenses in the league next week. I think the Steelers are a bottom 1/3 of the league when it comes to offense and that played apart on why our defense looked as good as it did.
You can’t even be honest with yourself. I’ve seen your history.

Trade Parsons
He will not be worth the next contract

Micah has become one of our latest whipping boys around here. Maybe it's because he's due a ginormous contract. We seem to start badmouthing our players when that happens.

Parsons and DLaw are undisputed and look for stats. Esp Parsons

Defense is not about flash, it is about discipline, gap control, tackling

Parsons is the main culprit along with Diggs
It's disgusting man.

A contract he doesn't deserve. There are some players on the team that deserved their contracts at the time of signing it. Micah won't be one of them if he wants to be the highest paid non qb

It was the perfect storm to get these new players feet wet. Pittsburgh is a terrible offense and Fields isn't a good QB and hasn't been his whole career in the NFL. Let's see how they play against offenses who can move the ball.

I will say Parsons is not worth the contract he will command. At all. Until he actually shows up in big moments against good teams, he pads his stats against lesser teams. He is the anti Aaron Donald who actually raised his play in the big games.

Spread his money out to fix other weaknesses as in the whole middle of this defense.

Fans get too caught up in what players deserve. Then, they get mad when the players get more than what they think they deserve. Micah will get his market value, whatever that may be.
