No one is going to absorb his $18 million for him to be a backup. His price tag is one of the reasons no one is interested. You can’t have a player making that kind of money sitting on the bench.

I don't know if I fully believe the rumors about Mayfield being generally a bad teammate and difficult to be around or work with, I say that because of the spin put on Cooper's ousting which seemed very manufactured. But if those rumors are true I wouldn't want anything to do with him, there are enough problems already as is with the Cowboys.

Why do you all keep trying to keep bringing in competition for Dak. It’s not going to happen. If Baker gets released there are like 15 teams he would pick over the Cowboys.

Dak has a NO trade clause and makes 40mil but restructured so this years hits not so bad..he cant be cut or traded with huge losses also cant be FT anymore either..hes here..mayfield wont be a backup and would be headcase to have sitting on the bench waiting for how much is his 5th year option 19-25mil.a huge distraction!

Absolutely, but I would prefer Jimmy Garappolo or Nick Foles.
Mayfield would compete, but Foles or Garappolo would easily outplay Dak and the change would finally occur in which Garrettocracy no longer exists in the locker room.
