I’m saying this talk that Dak is far superior is laughable! Teams would be willing but Cleveland isn’t just going to release him outright or trade him since Watson will likely miss an extended period of time. If he was available, he’d be signed.

The Browns mowed over the Cowboys in 2020. They had a terrific two headed monster at RB and one of the top OL’s in the league. They had a solid receiving corp that featured OBJ for part of that season. Despite all the talent that team had Mayfield still put up weak numbers. Teams haven’t been willing to trade for him it’s been reported. No one wants to take on his $18 million salary to be a backup and no one sees him as a starter. After Cleveland made the trade for Watson he threw his teammates under the bus.

He doesn’t want to be in Cleveland anymore and only losing all his money will get him to start for the Browns if Watson is suspended. It’s going to be a bad situation having him replace Watson knowing he’ll be benched when he returns. It’s going to create friction in the locker room. I’ll be surprised if he agrees to sub for Deshaun Watson until he returns. The money he’ll be losing is the only thing that will make him do it. The Browns are desperate to get rid of him to avoid the dilemma. He’s a very inconsistent QB who lacks leadership.

but BM is not the backup, qb3 status TBD

they brought in a backup..thats the deeper sting i mean if DW cant start its Brissett and they also have Dobbs etc..BM is all but gone its to who and for how much.Most likely a small draft pick 4th/5th plus BM restructuring his deal to say 2 years at 18 with only 9 guaranteed so its one year 9mil deal either as backup or possible starter on team who has an injury.

Lol yeah a screen pass laterally but baker gets the credit. I’m actually a cowboys fan and I think Dak is meh. I was high on him last season until the second half of it. Don’t act like you know me. But giving baker credit for a freaking screen pass that went for a TD? I guess all of daks passes to Zeke and pollard all count as big plays by him as well. If you go see my post history I’ve been very critical of this team since San Fran and I hated their draft. I went as far as to say I hope they go 0-17 because then we may actually see some real change.
That dark era you refer too has been present long before Dak even got drafted. The one to blame isn’t behind center he’s up on the press box gettting hammered every Sunday.

If you think Mayfield would be an upgrade over Dak then you haven't been paying much attention to Mayfield's antics in Cleveland.

Forget about Oklahoma, forget his draft status, he's not lived up to it and thinks far too much of himself.

Nobody wants him because of his $18 million salary, inconsistent play and the way he was throwing everyone under the bus in Cleveland.

You need to watch his interviews, it turned a lot of people off. He’s not a leader and doesn’t know how to handle difficult situations. He headed to the lockerroom during a game last season. He’s a finger pointer! He’s been very inconsistent as a player his entire career. You can’t win with a QB who’s consistently up and down. I haven’t seen anyone who gets paid to talk football defending Mayfield.

It is true, that jimmy G and baker, and foles would all want to start,
and no way would jones boys bring any of them here, but it would be fun and interesting if they did come here.
If I were them I might take the bkup role for 1 year deal just to rest up and wait for good
opportunity elsewhere, or if dak cant play, you get a chance to show what you can do.

What if foles came here and near end of season dak gets hurt and foles takes over??
then he leads team to SB win, and jerry releases him next season as they prefer dak.

Mayfield is a poor man's Rex Grossman. Dude could only win 10 games on an absolutely loaded team.

CLEV's D was 5th. O was 18th. And that was mostly due to stellar running by Chubb and Hunt. Passing game was 27th.

At this point, anyone who doesn't know Baker is being carried by that team just needs to turn in their football card and take up a different sport!!!!
