Mayock's prediction

The cowboys are a circus
Jerry is the ringmaster and Garrett is the clown
That is exactly how Jerry wants it BTW

Most objective people can see that clearly
Denying it will not make it less true

Get used to it

we all suffer from our delusion jsut like you

I think many around here believe Jerry has a yes-man fetish. The scouts and coaches know what Jerry wants to hear, they aren't idiots. They also know they are more likely to keep their jobs doing it. It comes across that way to me at least, especially when I keep hearing old names like Gil Brandt coming up over the years.

did you include Parcell's in that

Does anyone really believe a businessman like Jerry would undermine his own 100 million dollar investment in Romo ? Even though the best DT, taylor made for the defense you run falling into you lap? Jerry may be a lot of things, but he's not an idiot. I could see a WR or a Olineman 16 if the defense guys are gone. But come on...

When are people gonna realize...Jerry is an idiot?

Yes. Because drafting Manziel is most assuredly NOT going to lose Jerry Jones any money. In fact, I can all but guarantee just drafting JFB is going to light up the neon dollar signs in ATT Stadium. Jerry is a business man first and drafting Manziel would be a huge money gush and a tremendous cash cow. For the very reasons you stated, you are wrong. Manziel is absolutely in play if he falls to 16. To think otherwise is to be ignorant or delusional.

Let me just clarify. I am not predicting this will happen. I am simply stating that if all Jerry cares about is business interests, which you seem to be saying, then drafting Manziel is the best possible thing for him. This will still be an 8-8 team and the most profitable professional franchise in American professional sports. It will simply be that much more profitable.

As much as the media heads drive their own agenda of wanting everyone to believe Jerry only cares about money, that's not the case. The guy is really passionate about winning. Being a GM just isn't his strongpoint. If he just focused on the business end of the Cowboys he would be the greatest owner in football.

He should hire Bill Polian.

Maylock has us taking JFB with both Donald and Barr still on the board

LMAO

I saw that as well. Not going to happen in that scenario. I really like Mayock but I think he is off base on this. But like someone else said, if JFB gets past 10, the suspense will be killing us fans. Please no QB in 1st and 2nd! If you want to pull the trigger in the 3rd or 4th then fine.

If he was passionate about winning then he would fire himself as GM and actually hire a GM. He wants to prove that he can do it himself which is not the same thing. Clint Murchison was a great owner because he let football people run the team.

If he fired himself as GM, Stephen would be next in line.

Actually Mayock was comparing the circus of Tebow to the circus of Manziel. That is the context I heard.

Bingo, that's what he meant,,, no need to get defensive here.
Just for the sake of clarity though, let's acknowledge that more often than not the Cowboys are a circus of distractions and that's how Jerry likes it.

Todd McShay has Manziel to the Cowboys in his final mock as well.

Its going to be a fun night.
I think someone takes him earlier, Jags.
Texans trade back and get him?
