That is it exactly..........he still missed the games he missed....he had 4 in 2 games and since nothingNot at the price of a Top Five pick. I haven't watched the last two but in his first game with two sacks, one was a coverage sack that came a full ten seconds after the snap. The second was pretty meh.
In his last two games Bosa has one tackle and zero sacks in each game. A guy like Ogbah will end up being a better player and come at a far smaller price.

Joey Bosa’s unsustainable pace statistically has slowed down a bit in recent weeks. In his last two games, the rookie from Ohio State has just five total pressures and zero stops. That doesn’t mean he’s not still grading out well, which he very much is. Bosa hasn’t had a single game with a below-average grade as a pass-rusher.

I hope when you are looking around the league at sack totals that you are doing similar bias and taking away other's sacks when they don't get their sacks in the first 3 seconds of a rush and not giving credit for getting off blocks and explosive finish.
.
Want to bet that Bosa gets the DRotY and Ogbah doesn't? The handwork that he had at OSU to get off blocks that I was told wouldn't transition in the NFL has migrated well. He looks quick and explosive still too.
One of Mayowa's sacks was purely a coverage sack as well. I'm not saying Mayowa is a better player but IMO Bosa is completely overrated. I mostly think its funny that people in this thread are saying Mayowa is garbage and Bosa rocks, when their plays has been similar. But the draft status and paychecks aren't.
My post about Ogbah is him being a better player over the course of a career, not his rookie season. Hard for me to see Bosa getting Defensive Rookie of the Year.
The point to take away from this is that all players get coverage sacks and you cannot take away one players and think it valid.
Their play has been similar? Bosa has struggled to get off blocks and is getting pushed around? I've only watched three of his games but that is not what I have seen.
I edited the post to say 'stat line" rather than "play".
I'm taking coverage sacks away from both Bosa and Mayowa, I think Mayowa has underperformed as well.
Ogbah will likely improve but Bosa came into the league with some of the best handwork in the league already. He is also younger than Ogbah and will improve as well.
Every pundit has him as the leader in DRotY. You just don't want to see it.
It's time to throw away the Broaddus inspired 'good not great' let's read the basic stat line for our analysis way of looking at Bosa.

BTW, which articles are you talking about? I just googled it to see the consensus and don't see anything but fan sites.
Easy Fella. I haven't seen any articles about DROY because I haven't read them. Mostly because I don't care since it doesn't involve the Cowboys.
It isn't refusing to see it, I've never thought Bosa justified his draft position and haven't seen anything to change my mind. Time will tell and it won't be in November of Bosa's rookie year.
A rookie DE is nice if you have an aging proven guy near the sunset of his career. That being said a rookie DE would do little to help this line this year.
We probably should have signed a mid tier vet DE and drafted a DE maybe earlier than Tapper but that is hindsight at this point.
We certainly got the #4 Zeke pick right!!!
Zeke makes it all better!
I think the plan clearly was to draft Dodd or Ogbah in the second round, from everything you read they thought both would be there but neither was.
