If your first round pick isn’t getting on the field a lot they’re an issue.
Not so sure. They know the learning curve for a NT. It’s a really tough position with a lot to learn, in college he could just get by on brute strength but not in the nfl. And he wasn’t a huge producer in college. They took him for what they think Quinn can make him be and not what he is today. Quinn made guys like Osa and Armstrong into solid players who have a lot less talent and certainly not in the same league athletically. Let’s see how it works out but 3 games means very little

He should be playing more than he is. When he gets opportunities he hasn’t looked good. We had a major issue stopping the run, which is why he was drafted in the first round and he hasn’t helped. He’s been a bust. As for Osa he showed potential as a rookie. He was terrific the first few games of his rookie season before falling off some. The arrows have been pointing up with him ever since.

Osa played 600 snaps his rookie year because we needed that much out of him

He played all those snaps because he looked good. He had 2 sacks his first 4 games and several tackles. He was very disruptive. Everyone on the board was excited about him. You could see his potential. He looked night and day better than Mazi.

Minus corner or maybe slightly quarterback. I'd never draft a Michigan player

He also wasn’t playing NT

And plays a completely different position.

The fact you are even focused on “stats” for a rookie NT shows a complete lack of knowledge about football.
So sacks, tackles for a loss, and passes deflected means nothing? Wow, you are very knowledgeable about football.
I wonder why the NFL even keeps stats for rookies?

For NT's not all that much. Especially sacks and passes deflected.

All you do is pull stats from pro football focus and think that is knowledge.

He is a rookie who has played 3 games. He also plays nose tackle. Both reasons that stats aren’t the proper way to evaluate his play thus far.

Honestly his tackle stats at this point are meaningless.

We will have to wait and see what he ultimately becomes.

Isn't it knowledge to compare other NTs at the same point in their careers to see where Mazi is along with the amount of snaps he gets and what he does with those snaps? He is, after all, a first round pick. I never tried to use the stats to predict what he might become.
So is it your opinion that NT stats are useless or does that apply to every rookie player?

Definitely more concerned with lack of playing time than stats. We drafted a NT. They're not supposed to get big stats. But they are supposed to be on the field.
