200+ rushing yards later.he's there to plug up the middle, he just needs to get in the way. Tackles are overrated. Those are team stats.

You can thank a different first rounder who hasn’t lived up to expectations. LVE200+ rushing yards later.
Yeah, you nailed it. Guess you missed last years playoff game against the niners. He is main reason we even had a shot in that game. You can thank a different first rounder who hasn’t lived up to expectations. LVE
We’re certainly not getting anything from the pick now and we might not get much from it later. If he doesn’t show some signs of coming around at least by the end of the season, the Cowboys may have to invest another premium pick on a DT next April.Bottom line is we needed this pick to make an impact now and later, we might get neither.
I hope I am wrong about Mazi.I've watched the all 22 film of all 3 games a few times. I focused specifically on Mazi on one watch. Keep in mind he was in on roughly 41 snaps in the 3 games, most interior DL average around 50 once they're feet get wet.
That said, Mazi is actually performing very well. The power is obvious, he was tossing around OL a couple times a game and pushing OL back with regularity. Yes, he needs to get off the ball with more consistency, hopefully that will come. In terms of tackles, sure those statistical numbers will increase a bit over time but watch the game closely and understand why e isn't, and wont be a tackle machine.
Any HB worth pads in the NFL reads gaps to see which is open. They'll look at the helmets of the OL/DL to figure who has leverage in the hole. Mazi is not only flashing his colors in the hole, but he is also filling the gap consistently. There aren't gaps in Mazi's area for a HB to try running through. This funnels HB to seek out another gap and funnels him into his team mates to make tackles. What does all that mean? Mazi is doing his job.
I like your style. I have doubted Cowboys players myself, but just like you I always wished I was wrong. Why would we want to be right in thinking one of our guys isn't so good? He still has a long way to go, but he has the tools, the support and I think is in the right scheme for the best shot to reach his potential. I will keep an eye on him through the season because I am a huge fan of DL play (and defense in general).I hope I am wrong about Mazi.
I’d be the first to admit it.
We need that player to work out.
...thanks for that input. Broaddus also commented, Hanky and Mazi are doing their job. ITs the outside, thats having situation problems.I've watched the all 22 film of all 3 games a few times. Yeah, it really is. One play in particular against Arizona, wasn't a long gain but LVE missed a blatant assignment that made for an easy pick up on what should've been a tackle for loss, or at worse no gain. The middle was shut down tight and LVE was terribly out of position....thanks for that input. Broaddus also commented, Hanky and Mazi are doing their job. ..only Taco Supreme....You didn’t like Taco Charlton ?
"1 tech" position is the only position where "almost made a tackle" counts as making a play. You guys really need to study what 1 tech do. On top of that you think a rookie 1 tech that is a backup is going to have a bunch of tackle stats......... That's crazy
Hankins has 1 solo tackle in 3 games...Mazi has one solo tackle in 3 games. Not exactly what I expected as a 1st round pick. I do think he has shown great potential though.

I didn't think Martin was a WR. Kind of apples to oranges, isn't it. Maybe Martin should be rated by sacks or hurries allowed? No problem. You see, it's about the position one plays. Catches matter a lot, right? Then Zach Martin must suck, because he doesn't catch any.
Yes, his rookie contract is guaranteed, but still he is not a big drag on the CAP. And every first round pick is a risk. There are first round busts on every team. But after 3 games it is far too soon to declare him a bust. He will learn and development. What we want to see is improvement from the beginning of the season to the end, and from year 1 to year 2. If we don't see signs of that then we can start talking about him maybe not being worth the first round selection. Hind-sight is 100%. When he was picked I had no preconceived notions about what kind of player he would be, but I was happy Dallas finally pulled the trigger on a DT in the first round.I believe the 13mill is all GTD.
They could cut him after 2024 and take a 7mill dead cap hit.
Btw, I’m guilty too. I bought into the hype on this player when he was drafted.
A lot of anointing oil was poured out.
Imagine how good Mazi would be if he had any speed and a killer first step.
