Marion needs to lower his pad level for that short yardage run. If you look at the replay, he didn't get knocked back but he did not go forward either. Why? Because the middle linebacker had his shoulders lower than Marion.

Marion lowers that shoulder and gets his momentum forward he wins that battle.
