Well 25 seasons of disappointment will demoralize even the most fiercely loyal fans. Add to the fact that Dallas is a see and be seen town and it's a perfect storm.

I'm not the fan I was 10 years ago. I can't name the entire roster like I could before. After a while the losing wears on you. And everyone seemed to be fine with it.

I don’t remember Texas stadium ever being considered some massive home field advantage maybe early season with the sun and heat. The thing I really recall is Dallas area cowboy fan being rather spoiled by success and “needing” something to cheer for. Heck I got security called in me by some blue hair for cheering loudly on my seat in 04. I suspect today’s game will be loud and so should any home playoff game this season. It’s a different sense of hope this go round.

We won't have the smartest crowd to be honest (loud when we're on offense and quite on D, I've been to 5 games and everytime I've had to tell my section to be quiet when we're driving) nor does the building acoustics (or whatever it would be) help amplify the sound. Seattle isn't louder, they just have a building they directs sound in a way to make it louder

I bet the WFT doesn't think AT&T Stadium was easy to play at. We put a 40 burger on the iggles and gnats at AT&T stadium so I doubt those teams think that road game was easy. Ask the Falcons about their experience at AT&T Stadium this year. The Cowboys fans have been loud and proud this season

I've spent enough time there getting to know locals to comment properly.

They are good fans. Capable of showing up and being loud....

BUT....they aren't gonna do it first to inspire a meh team over the top.

Once we start to prove to be real, they will be out in droves and we will hear the crowd.

Granted it took the early 90s version of that a little while to understand that we needed noise on defense, not offense but, I've been in a very loud and crazy Texas Stadium several times.

Apples don't fall far from trees, but there's also been 25 years of not so goodness.

Say whatever you want about McCarthy, but he is pretty honest when answering questions.

Jerry is ridiculously honest. Stephen, to a large extent, is honest too.

We have been saying for a long time here that playing in Dallas is no real home-field advantage.

mccarthy is not wrong his packers teams treated like it was there home field. also thanksgiving games have been a better place for opposing teams the last five years. texas stadium felt like home field advantage so far cowboys stadium does not.

I also , was able to name the entire roster from memory and then puberty hit and that came to an end.....

Tough place to play is in reference to the environment though, not the talent of the team. I don’t think any team in the league thinks to themselves that Dallas has a hostile/raucous home environment. They were ok in the WFT game but that wine and cheese crowd is going to have to be even better in the playoffs, they need to represent the way Cowboy fans represent in other teams stadiums.

It's like a player once said - Going to Jerry World was like going to Vegas, where Texas Stadium had a mystique, its where Rodger, Randy White ect all played.
