Tough place to play is in reference to the environment though, not the talent of the team. I don’t think any team in the league thinks to themselves that Dallas has a hostile/raucous home environment. They were ok in the WFT game but that wine and cheese crowd is going to have to be even better in the playoffs, they need to represent the way Cowboy fans represent in other teams stadiums.

You have obviously not attended Cowboys home games this season. I've attended most of the home games so stop telling me what I know and you know nothing about.

I'll say it again. Why not?

I've spent enough time there getting to know locals to comment properly.

They are good fans. Capable of showing up and being loud....

BUT....they aren't gonna do it first to inspire a meh team over the top.

Once we start to prove to be real, they will be out in droves and we will hear the crowd.

Granted it took the early 90s version of that a little while to understand that we needed noise on defense, not offense but, I've been in a very loud and crazy Texas Stadium several times.

Apples don't fall far from trees, but there's also been 25 years of not so goodness.

Championships isn’t necessarily a word that comes to mind when I think of Texas.

Maybe they need to get off their *** and go cheer on their teams. Momentum helps a lot and builds confidence. If players know their fans are going to be behind them, they’re probably going to play a lot better.

Such a big state to be so irrelevant when it comes to football and basketball not only in the pros, but college as well. Probably why they hang their hat on “Friday night lights”. Only time they experience winning something.

mccarthy is not wrong his packers teams treated like it was there home field. also thanksgiving games have been a better place for opposing teams the last five years. texas stadium felt like home field advantage so far cowboys stadium does not.

The main reason the Cowboys no longer have much advantage on Thanksgiving is that they typically play a late road game the Sunday before.. Which means they play a road game until 6:30 Central time.. Shower and head to the airport by 9 pm Central.. board a plane by 10 Central.. fly home, that's usually 3-4 hours so they get home between 1 and 3 am Central.. and get home and into their own beds like 5-6 am Monday morning.. Then get a few hours of low quality sleep and have to be back at the facility to start prepping for a game. They have nothing but walk through practices Monday and Tuesday.. do next to nothing on Wednesday and then play the next day.

But for the most part Cowboys stadium rocks for divisional foes.. But those are probably the games season ticket holders are less likely to sell. Those games against non-division teams sometimes look like a turkey on paper so people sell them for 4-5 times face value to out of town fans or locals who are transplants to help pay for their season tickets.. To be honest I have a hard time blaming them for that. One thing though.. the longer the team stays good the less you will see of people selling off their tickets.. So let's hope McCarthy keeps this team in 10 win territory every year for a while. If he does you will see less and less of opposing fans taking over home games..

We won't have the smartest crowd to be honest (loud when we're on offense and quite on D, I've been to 5 games and everytime I've had to tell my section to be quiet when we're driving) nor does the building acoustics (or whatever it would be) help amplify the sound. Seattle isn't louder, they just have a building they directs sound in a way to make it louder

It’s a double edged sword. The home crowd isn’t very good, but Cowboy fans often take over other teams’ stadiums. I can think of four road games this year where the Cowboys fans made their presence known. New England was a great one.

It's like a player once said - Going to Jerry World was like going to Vegas, where Texas Stadium had a mystique, its where Rodger, Randy White ect all played.

Texas Stadium had mystique allright.

Not only inside the stadium but also outside the stadium with the foldable large drive-in screens playing movies at night. Plenty of pheromones wafting in the night breeze from the gap in car windows where the movie speakers hung. Cars shaking up and down due to human hydraulics.

Well 25 seasons of disappointment will demoralize even the most fiercely loyal fans. Add to the fact that Dallas is a see and be seen town and it's a perfect storm.

I'm not the fan I was 10 years ago. I can't name the entire roster like I could before. After a while the losing wears on you. And everyone seemed to be fine with it.
