McCarthy Job Security

Does beating the Eagles lock Mike McCarthy's job security for 2023 or could a first-round playoff exit still lead to his firing? It's setting up for the Cowboys to have a favorable wild card game. They will be favored on the road.
If they lost the first game in the playoffs, he'll be fired, I think if he doesn't make it to the the nfc title game he's gone. But if they get blown out of it just a ugly loss like penalty wise he will be gone too even if they make the nfc title game

I cannot believe people on here are so quick to accept mediocrity. In this sport more than any coaching matters. Did we not learn anything last years 49er game. That is a game we should not have lost, not only did we look unprepared we had penalty after penalty. Regardless of our flaws we have a good team this year.

There is no reason we can't make a run. Anything less is unacceptable and accepting the same mediocrity we have seen the past 20 years.

Forget Just MM, Moore and Dan Quinn have not proven they can adjust. You really trust they can win 4 gams in a row in the playoffs.

I'm all for getting Peyton. We have talent, a good coach can elevate talent. For us thats the difference between a divisional round exit and a SB appearance.

Seriously, How is Mike McCarthy responsible for the past 20 years or 26 years ? All any coached can or should be judged on is his performance. and up until now Big Mike has done an outstanding job.

constant change is a sure fire sign of a loser, you don't fix what isn't broke. Win or lose in the playoffs, is Mike the problem ? No its our soft middle on defense. So what seems more rational, Spend goo gobs of money and resources to get

Peyton or some other flavor of the month coach, or fixing our porous defensive line. Two well placed drafts can fix the line. That's if you don't go free agency

No if you’re asking if you want his hand or are you asking which JJ do something about MM I have to ask how do you fire a guy who’s got your team at 11 four and it’s probably gonna be better than that at the end of the season regardless of playoff wins If you’re saying what do you want well that’s entirely different thing fans won’t change Jerry Jones does not

I'm hoping the Joneses have learned from giving Garrett so many years without playoff success. 12-4, 13-3 seasons mean nothing without playoff success. I think McCarthy has to get past the first round or Jerry will turn to his friend Sean Payton. If Payton were not available, he might be more willing to give McCarthy another year.

Super Bowl success and or appearances are a bonus. I know you guys don't like to hear that but for true winners , it's true. You chase Super Bowl's or anything else desired you will come to poverty. Build the best organization you can be proud of, concern yourself with excellence and watch how fast Super Bowl's come. Like the good Book says He that lust after gold will come to poverty. Same concept

When we lose in the first round, like tradition, I’m thinking the coordinators go and not McCarthy

two ten win seasons back to back already puts him in the ring of honor. he's going to be here for a very, very long time.

Fully expect McCarthy to be back next season, he is in the 3rd year of a 5 year deal. In that time he has lead the Cowboys to back to back post seasons. 29 and 19 record

There is nothing to suggest Mike will not return:
1) He gets on with Jerry
2) He is under contract
3) He has a winning season.

Jerry's mindset is not 'can I improve our chances of winning a SB by replacing our coach' more like 'we are very close to winning let's reload and roll with what we have'

How about B2B seasons of 10+ win and payoff appearances first time since 1996 and being like 28-10 since the last 4 games of 2020 with huge injuries to major players and allegedly a bad gm who gave him nothing this year, historically bad offseason, no depth, lack of star power. That was what was said in preseason and the first week of the season.

..thats not job security lol maybe by this fan base but the man has us winning more

right that automatic huh a guarantee replaces the GM, qb and coach and those teams miraculously went to the SB that same year? Just always a clear blueprint for instant success. right more clueless fans who are not paying attention.

Was he not brought here for playoff success? Was that not the bill of goods that Jerry was selling? Rewind the tape.

No one cares about the regular season outside of getting to the playoffs.
dude you are spewing nonsense
