If you are worried about Micah bonding with rookies or all the guys that wont be here during the season you got bigger issues.

I support Mike McCarthy in this instance. I would rather read or hear about the players attending OTAs. Let the media do the footwork, hunt down Micah Parsons, and ask for his explanation for not being at OTAs.

Get a quote from the horse's mouth instead. Do some actual reporting.

Leadership!
Unless he's leading the cheering section at the Mavericks game I'm not sure who else he's leading?

There's an old saying. What do you call a leader without any followers........ Just a guy taking a walk.

It might not be the smartest move to give up that much for a non QB, especially one you need to give out a mega contract to, but that's the precedent that has been set from recent trades such as Khalil Mack, Jalen Ramsey, and Tyreek Hill.

With Parsons still having two years of team control instead of his walk year I think there is an argument that he should be worth even more.
It’s possible I guess, but if I had my preference I’d keep my #1’s and enjoy the cap savings with hopefully two talented players on rookie deals. Of course that depends on you making the right draft choices, but I understand your logic

No issue there and I think a lot of people would agree with that. Personally I'm a fan of looking to trade one of these bigger names about to need mega deals for the reasons you mentioned....or at least I was pre draft, not sure it makes a ton of sense now.

Jerry has created this culture of no accountability. MP, Dak, and Ceedee are supposed to be the leaders of this team. Jerry pissed all of them off with the off season approach. Although I wish they were there, I completely understand why they aren’t. Everyone knows Jerry isn’t going to reward or punish them for not being there.

Why not have the “it doesn’t matter if I’m all in or not” attitude. We all know the owners aren’t all in. The owners care more about brand than they do championship. Why is it a surprise that the “leaders” of the team have taken the same approach?

He played hard no question it can not be denied. The question you have to ask is why did he never some off. Was it because he thought it would help his team win or was it selfish? I mean the guy never got the job done. How did it help the longevity of his career? It sure did fizzle out fast. Maybe if he was more of a leader, practiced harder and involved his team mates more he would have got the job done.
I’m not a fan of his game, except when he was in college. He was a volume shooter. But I was just speaking about his grit and drive, particularly for his size.

Gotta say, I'm disappointed in Micah for being such a diva! I thought he was more of a trooper than that. He needs to get with the program!
No doubt he should be there from a leadership standpoint. Not a good look. We need Charles Haley to take him out back and instill some discipline into him.

No star player should go to OTAs, if for nothing else to avoid injury. Showing up in shape is a must, but depending on how much the fines are if I was making 20m a year, I might skip training camp if it’s under 500k. 4 weeks of preseason is enough to get ready for the season then you have 17 weeks plus another 4 weeks of playoffs maybe. That’s half a year of games. I would do the strength and conditioning but seriously considering skipping the rest of it. I will say training camp is important to learn the plays.

Has to catch up? Lol...go work on your resume, Fat Mike. Parsons is the only guy you got who can get to the QB.

Don’t buy the injury prevention excuse, you have just as much chance of injury sumo wrestling and working out with boxers as you do jogging around with shorts and a helmet. It’s a negotiation ploy.

Not a good look from your defensive leader, should have been to begin to learn the new system with his teammates.

That's a really good point. The injury risk seems kind of silly to me simply because it's not like he is sitting on the couch instead. The guy is still working out on his own, and really getting hurt on your own time is a bigger risk. I believe if a player gets hurt on their own time the team is not responsible for any of their medical bills, and in some cases wont even have to pay their salary.

Parsons is not a team player. I would trade him immediately this guy marches to his own tune. More interested in his podcast and social media.
