Coach Mac is an expert at saying what Jerry wants to hear. He is about self-preservation. What he said about Kellen Moore and wanting to run more for the sake of the defense is as dumb as it gets.

Cross what he said with his own track record, our rushing stats this past season, and Jerry’s adoration for being right about Zeke and you get more lying and ***-covering.

His comments are cowardly in my opinion.

I can't wait to watch Kellen Moore have the offense humming in LA with a good QB.

This will benefit Kellen the most. He gets to work under another HC, GM and owners with different methodologies than the Cowboys. Will make Kellen a better head coach one day.

Sounds like it was KM's decision on the players on the field.
You mean the OC had a say? Wow, more genius analysis.

sounds to me like Moore at least was smart enough to understand that scoring lots of points wasn’t running zeke, but throwing more.

anyone that pushed zeke or thought zeke should get lots of Carrie’s in the FO was plain dumb. If that was Moore good riddance. If MM is actually going to bring back zeke and run more than his tenure will be a failure and short lived.

More proof that fat Mike is a liar and wanted Moore gone for nothing to do with running the ball. Here is the GB rushing attempts ranking by years that fat Mike was the HC:

2006: 21st
2007: 28th
2008: 14th
2009: 15th
2010: 20th
2011: 26th
2012: 16th
2013: 12th
2014: 14th
2015: 12th
2016: 29th
2017: 27th
2018: 32nd

So an average position of 20th after 13 seasons as the HC in GB.....oh, and here are the Cowboys rushing attempts rankings by year since fat Mike has been the HC:

2020: 15th
2021: 12th
2022: 6th

So in 3 years in Dallas, with Kellen Moore as the OC who according to fat lying Mike just wants to pass the ball, the average was 11th for rushing attempts.

Bottom line: fat Mike was liar to get this job and fat Mike is a liar to keep this job.
Why would you run the ball when you have prime Aaron Rogers?

Now if you got Dak that throws a pick a game, maybe running the ball aint such a bad idea.

Bottom line: you got to fit your scheme to the personnel that you have according to their strenghts and weaknesses and going full on air-raid offense with Dak under center aint the best plan in the world chief, I got to agree with Fat Mike here.

Wait a second, I am reading all these posts that are saying this aint the 90s no more and you got to throw the ball to win and MM is just a relic of the past and is making Moore a scapegoat.

Well, when it was 2nd and 2 in the SF playoff game and Moore went empty backfield and Pollard got his leg snapped on that play, I dont remember anybody saying how great of a call that was by Moore and how throwing the ball was absolutely the right call there.

In fact, I remember 99% of this board saying how stupid a call that was and Moore needs to stop calling plays like its Madden and run the dam ball on 2nd and 2.

Funny how so many posters seem to have amnesia and dont remember any of that and seem to now think Moore was our savior and was just railroaded by MM.

I find it hilarious that the same lazy Head Coach who for the first three (3) years wanted NO PART in calling or even helping call the plays on game day....and didn't even know all of the offensive terminology....is SUDDENLY all in, and excited about doing so. This was forced on him....plain and simple...its about time this lazy con artist was forced to do something on which he can truly be measured.

The quarterback of this team sucks at decision making in real time.
Decision making is about as important a character trait in a quarterback's skillset as there can be.
No amount of instant replay, All-22 or Warner breakdowns can improve how frequent Sleepnumber either did not see open field running room or made errant passes while not seeing other options.

Regardless of play call OR empty backfield, THAT pass should have never been thrown.
The decision to throw that pass is the error.
I received a very respectable amout of likes from posters here for making that previous post when the play occurred so I guess I'm in a minority here.

But yeah, the bottom line is
Prescott can't beat 4 consecutive playoff teams REGARDLESS of playcaller because he sucks at decision making.

All the back tracking on this newly proposed offensive plan is lip service.

Linehan already tried it in 2016 with a more mobile QB, dominant oline and RB and it didn't work then.

And now that particular team, no longer exists.

That's funny..Kellen Moore was doing just that with Cooper Rush and winning games. Didn't the owner/GM, McCarthy, Dak, and most of the fans here say we need to put up 40 burgers instead? Now it's celebrated as a concept hmmm
Yes. Cooper Rush is the answer! This post will age poorly,

We won under Rush because the D was dominant against poor teams.

we’ll see how it shakes, but everyone was fawning over the 9ers employing just this brand of football

24-10 over the last 2 regular seasons…..what a buffoon. We should let you coach I’m sure we’d have a ton of success
Choke against SF in back-to-back seasons all while continuing to have issues with clock management and decision-making....but you loyalists herald your king right to the recycling yard.

We won because of the D during those games my dude… lol. Cooper drove the bus, but they really scaled everything back while he was under center.

Once Dak got back, the production— and mistakes!!— went WAY up. Dak has admitted he gets greedy and aggressive.

If he and Kellen are guilty of anything, it is pride. They believed they could play Madden and put up the numbers, so they adapted a risky style of offense instead of working off the ground game and D like they should have.

This is why Kellen is gone. Not because he isn’t a talented OC— but because he was unwilling to heed what was in the best interests of helping this team win and I think he disregarded MM’s approach and there were too many cooks in the kitchen.

I also think he was unwilling to challenge his BFF Dak, and that by itself, really hurt this team bc Dak went off script far too often.

I am not saying the results in Jan will necessarily be any different, but I agree philosophically with the changes Mike is trying to implement.

And no, Cooper Rush is not as good a QB as Dak Prescott lol
Great post Hawk, I believe you nailed it.

I was hoping Mike would call the plays since he was hired. No matter what Rodgers said, I think it's one of Mike's strengths. He found ways to win games with back-up offensive linemen and a TE playing RB. It always seemed to be next man up in GB and they still succeeded. In a way it's been the same here since the hire.

I don't think Mike gets the credit he deserves, he's the best coach we've had since Jimmy.

Him saying that he's more in tune when calling the plays says a lot to me. I think he's excited about it and will show us a better controlled offense. It also shows that he may finally have a bit more power than we think.

If we can't win a SB with Mike at the helm, then we aren't winning for a very long time. In my opinion he's a top 5 coach in the league and we are lucky to have him.
