Made the playoffs 6 times in 22 years. Went between 7-9 and 8-8 11 times in those 22 years. Perfect match for this team over the last 30. Surprised it hasn't been finalized already.

And why exactly should any fan think any different?how can you know its a setback until you know who takes over?
this type of mindset, to me, will call ANYTHING a setback cause it's what you're expecting and/or looking for.
Now this is a positive spin I can buy into. Maybe we’ll have parted ways with our GM by then.It will likely be a setback, yeah. But here's the plus.
They'll hire some dud for the next two years and we'll bomb, but then at the end of the tunnel, we'll finally be done with the Dak Prescott era.
to me this says you think the team is hopeless. And why exactly should any fan think any different?
Jerry had said a month or so back he didn’t know if he could sell McCarthy coming back. I don’t see how he could remotely think he could sell this. Post Tennessee, maybe. But no way in hades after the Rams.BREAKING: Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones to hold talks with Jeff Fisher for the vacant head coach position
This team is hopeless as long as JJ is pulling the strings no matter who the coach is at least until Dak is gone. He’s right behind Jerry as the biggest obstacle to future success.to me this says you think the team is hopeless.
and i wouldn't argue.
but if the team is hopeless, how can you really set them back?
which is it?
Progeny, cousins, in-laws, cousins once-removed.This is interesting.
Different types of candidates. Does he mean bad ones?
Ask Clarence. He's the one that said it. Did he make it up or lie? Where does he get it from?Where is the proof of this?
Probably not paying enough for a decent medium. Sounds about right. Wonder what he offered them.Right now Jerry's panicking because Larry Lacewell won't return his call.
#KMooreDumb move by Jerry. People will cheer it but it's a setback, especially if Zimmer takes over.
That’s all class. Third class, mind you.Ding dong the fat 400 pound coach is gone!!! maybe he should have stopped eating so much and focused on watching film!!!!!!
Jerrys next Garrett, he even has Jason’s training wheels in storage ready.MM going is a positive, but oh my word, Kellen coming in, ***?
Not good enough to be an OC,but good enough to be HC?
Makes a difference in hiring assistants. Good ones want stability. They don't want a 3 year contract. They want a 4 or 5 year contract. That's the league norm. What difference does the length of a contract make? Just fire him if he doesn’t meet expectations. Just seems like a weird thing to be hung up on with a coach that you claim to really like.
Oh well onto the next project.
I don't really see why that is some disservice. The exclusive negotiating period was written into the contract. The Cowboys wanted to use it to negotiate a new contract. McCarthy has no reason to be upset with it.After blocking Chicago from talks says to me that Mcarthy said IM OUTTA HERE.
Agreed. And he probably isn't, especially if the Joneses were trying to come to an agreement with him. Just because they differed on the agreement does not mean he was bothered at all by the negotiating period since it was part of their deal.I don't really see why that is some disservice.
