RELEASED McCarthy out as Cowboys coach

Will Lance go with McCarthy? Will he sign with Dallas? Will he sign with a different team? If isn't hard to figure out, pick 1.
Why would he go with McCarthy?

McCarthy was blindsided by the trade in the first place. LOL.

He will either sign here to be the backup because Rush is gone, or he signs somewhere else to be a backup.

Just drove by a Dairy Queen. Had to pull over.

Inconsolable.

I think a coach would be more concerned with the salary in their contract and the actual control they have over ‘their team’.

Both are sorely lacking in Dallas.
i get it and the control is an issue but the salary is not as bad as it gets made to be...not the best but also not the worst in the league.Addiitonally i would not underestimate the value of the visibility that the HC of the cowboys gets. Its not the job it was 20 years ago, esp bc the jones have gotten way worse, but its still very appealing

Lance turned down the Cowboys offer 3 weeks ago. I was wondering if he was waiting to see what happens with McCarthy.

The question is who's willing to be JJ's puppet? This is the guy that broke Pacels.

Dallas, wont be winning anytime soon.

At least Chicago has rookie Caleb Williams. Even Jax has Trevor FWIW. We have a soon to be 10 yr vet who has only ever won 2 wildcard games.
But, to be fair, he knows he has to be better and looks forward to proving you wrong.

Tell the whole story.

I read that McCarthy - a Super Bowl winning coach - was paid $6 million last year. While others were making this:

Heck, even the Seahawks first-year head coach made more than McCarthy.

That’s just wrong.

So.........the next coach is going to maximize Daks' ability after 10 years or so!? Just sit back and think about that ridiculous comment.
Jared Goff was the same draft class at Dak.

Mixed emotions…I didn’t like MM because I thought his schemes were outdated;and the team played undisciplined, always among the league leaders in penalties. And of course, seemed unprepared for big games.
BUT I felt Jerry set MM up to fail this past season and then not allowing other teams to talk to him was a crap move…so I hope he goes to a team where he has a voice with an owner who isn’t a narcissist.
Now the scary thing is who will Jerry tap to coach the Cowboys…Vrabel would have been my choice as I think Dallas needs that strong, hard-nosed disciplinarian that you would think he would be coming from the Belichick coaching tree.
Hopefully Jerry has thought this through and isn’t going to promote Zimmer or pursue Moore…Dallas needs totally new blood.

according to the data i am looking at he was paid as the 15th highest NFL coach this year - right in the middle. Not fair to compare other leagues....like i said, not the best but also not the worst....right in the middle.

And for the record, i agree with you that he should be paid more

Another aspect to this is revenge. This is Randy Moss all over again. Every time we see McCarthy he's going to coach the crap out of us.
