Excuses

Some of your best players that have been on this team for years have been downright horrible. From Terrence Steal to Dak Prescott.

There was absolutely no benefit in signing Dak the day before the season. If Dak played amazing, they could have extended him during the season. Jerry’s synapses don’t fire so fast anymore.

Signing players during camp is causing all of the pre-snap penalties, horrible clock mgmt, bad challenges, and Trevon not knowing where to line up

He would’ve already been fired from every other organization in the NFL, especially after the Green Bay.

Instead he works for the one owner that doesn’t care about winning, so he gets to suck at his job but still kept it.

So him “working for the worst management on Earth” benefits him. He would be unemployed right now anywhere else.
That's what I'm saying. Why quit when you can do nothing and collect a paycheck? He's not sleeping at the office trying to figure out new schemes to win games or how to best tailor the offense around Rush/Lance. I'm sure he clocks out every day and is home by dinner time. If he gets fired he still gets his check. He knows no place is going to hire him next year so just coast out this year and then retire with a few more dollars in his account.

This the same guy that got Kellen fired so he can establish the run? And proceeds not to establish the run? This the same guy whose team is constantly having tons of penalties for years now? I don’t want to hear nothing from this man about the FO.

I hope he does too. I think he’s afraid of possibly hurting his future chances of getting hired
Exactly....NFL coaches don't burn bridges. It's a small fraternity, and NFL owners/GMs never forget. I'm sure Mike is now trying to make the best of this season and hopes it's enough ( alone with three 12-5 seasons ) to get another shot. Something in his favor is how well Quinn and Kellen Moore are doing.

Nobody is forcing you to stay, Mike.

You can quit today.

You won’t though.
We know he is gone, Big Mike knows he's gone. He should stay to the end and force Jerry to settle or come up with an Interim.(Who?) Nevertheless.....Jerry, come season's end is going to anoint Kellen Moore (wait for it), and Jerry will continue to be the actual Coach/GM. Hmmm.....Since Kellen left Dallas, no one has conjured the "Offensive Guru" claim out their mouth about him.

You are probably right but his resume here is not bad.......three straight 12-5 seasons would impress a lot of owners. Especially teams that haven't been to the playoffs much.

Yup. Nail on head.
PRIMARY reason for his hiring was a HUGE failure.
And all his podium lies about running the ball and fixing penalties just added fuel to the building of his 5 year Cowboy legacy that he's experiencing now.

He was not hired to go 12-5 in the regular season.

No gray area.
HE failed.
NEXT...
Exactly.

On the one hand— I have a measure of sympathy bc Jerry is the biggest issue.

On the other hand, Mike has not fixed big issues that are under his control: penalties, lack of preparation, play-calling issues, poor game management etc…

Bottom line: I can’t remember the last time I felt like we took the field and had an innovative gameplan and a distinct coaching advantage that exploited mismatches and our team was the more prepared, focused, and hungry unit on the field

Also— is it me or does this staff SUCK at developing players?! Lots of draft picks that never seem to figure it out.

Disappointing to consider the high draft picks on this roster that contribute nothing to the team right now

He is 100% right. This is not newsflash, but this "football" team is run like a business FIRST. If you can win football games within the confines of the Jones Boys business plan, that is just gravy. And being 12 - 5 three straight years gave the Jones Boys the false sense that they felt they just need a break here or there. You do NOT win a Super Bowl by getting a break here or there in the postseason.

We get beat SOUNDLY....and EARLY during the postseason, because we are NOT close to a Super Bowl. This notion that just make the playoffs and "anything" can happen is NONSENSE. Not when you will likely need to win 4 games to raise the trophy.

We are not focused enough. We are not physical enough. We are not disciplined enough. And lastly we are not talented enough to win 4 straight postseason games. We got beat BADLY by a young coach and QB last year. They turned on the film and had no doubt that they would beat us. Listen to the 49ers coaching staff and they had no doubt the Packers would beat us. We are a joke and a fraud in REAL football circles.

And to have each offseason over the past 3 years get progressively worse is proof that winning a Super Bowl is NOT the priority!!!!
Well said!! :clap::clap:

Love it. Big Mac should pour it on. What are they going to do FIRE him?

Seriously McCarthy should go out in a blaze of proverbial glory. He knows he’s about to become Jerry’s latest scapegoat for JJ’s own sins. Everyone knows his lifeless body will be thrown over the wall to make the fans think “changes are coming”. Unless Jerry makes MAJOR changes, nothing meaningful will change.

Big Mac should make press statements like this one, take more chances in the game plan, playing people who you normally wouldn’t play and generally make some noise. Why not?

Can't dispute any of this.
Especially the gameday coaching description you give here.
Just so very spot on.

You guys thinking this is Mike's fault are so silly. The man has won a lot of games over the past three years and he simply has not been setup for success by his management.
You should direct your anger and sarcasm elsewhere.

Yep Bob,
There is absolutely nothing to lose at this point.
Heck, he might even shock us with a well coached win.
Well maybe not to that well coached extreme, but he could possibly luck up into an upset of 2 or 3 favored opponents down the stretch.

Go McFraud, Go!!
