Dak is a lot closer to Patrick Mahomes than he is to Trent Dilfer, Jim McMahon, Jeff Hostetler or Jim Plunkett so I’m not sure what your point is. We’ve won many games BECAUSE of Dak Prescott, which can’t be said of more than a few SB winning QBs. He’s more than capable of going out and dominating a football game.

If Dallas won a SB with Dak this year hypothetically speaking, we would have done so with better QB a play than 7 of the last 22 champions at a minimum. And that’s granting the premise that 2003 Brady and 2005 Roethlisberger were already better than current Dak at that point in their careers, which statistically is actually completely unfounded and I’m being generous. So let’s stop pretending how it’s unfathomable that Prescott could win a title.

And there’s a difference between playing within one’s limits and just being incredibly limited. Cooper Rush is the latter. He’s playing within the limits given him by a truncated playbook and gameplan because venturing outside of those limits would result in disaster. Our offense is BAD right now. Extrapolated out to a full season our offense under Rush would be our worst since the early 1960s. The 1989 offense was better on a per play basis.
I stopped reading after the first sentence.

I wouldn’t call our offense “bad”. Our OL is now better than last year, and with Gallup back, our WR group is above average. Once Dak comes back and finds a groove, we’ll be 10-15. Combined with a top 3 defense, and we’ve got a contender.

1)It’s always been that kind of a league, but now, patience is almost nonexistent, replaced by ridiculously epic overreaction.

2)Dak HASN’T done much lately. One bad game played in the last ten months or so—not a large sample size, but heavily utilized by detractors to “validate” their snark.
The last 10 months, you forgot the 9er game already? or before that, the last good team we have beaten with dak was the chargers of last year, that was game 2 btw...look it up.

We’re in the bottom of 5 of nearly every important offensive metric. Our 2020 offense under Andy Dalton was quite a bit better, our defense just sucked so we didn’t win much.

And I agree we’ll be much better with Dak, that’s my point. My quarrel isn’t with you as that’s the reasonable position.

The offense will finish in the top half of the league because Dak will come back and the OL will continue to get better.

Everyone knows it a team game, but when the QB wants to be a one man show then it hurts the team.

Dak won't run the offense because Dak wants to check into too many passing plays, because ya know, he's gotta keep his stats looking good and all.

Cooper Rush is playing the team game. There is NO WAY, the 2022 version of Dak, would throw just 16 passes in a game like Rush did Sunday regardless of if it was what is best for the team or not.

BS, that is crazy Dak hate talk. He is not a selfish player.
Man stop with the hate. You know how it makes you look.

another dud like Week 1 and even I will be calling for Rush to step back in.
that wont happen, once they go back to dak that is it, no going back to rush.
Only another injury would get rush back maybe.

Dak will be back and we'll see what happens.

Maybe Week 1 was just a blip and he really has gotten better after 7 years, a major injury, and minor injuries raking up.

After all, I'm sure there's a long list of QBs that have gotten significantly better under those circumstances, right? I can't think of any off the top of my head. Can you?

i would sit him til then. if you’ve played Rush through Rams, Bengals, philly. why not lions and bears? give dak extra time to get right.
IMO, the reason you start Dak as soon as he is ready is because:
  • He didn't take any game reps in preseason
  • He played like crap Game 1
  • I don't want KM to dream up some Boise State pass happy crap with the extra week during the bye, just to "surprise everyone" with the starting QB
    • (Maybe unfair, but it seems like KM does not like to run unless he has to)
Now, if Dak hasn't had a full week of practice before the Lions game, thus hasn't proven he is ready to go, he sits.

Then if he hasn't had a full week of practice before the Bears game, thus hasn't proven he is ready to go, he sits.

Hell, if Dak hasn't had a full week of practice before the Packers game after the bye, he sits.

But as soon as he's had a full week of practice, I put him in because he needs the reps. Period.

Now when is he ready? I have no clue. But the simple rule of "No practice, No play" would be my guiding principle.

No you just want to troll. 24 / 7 free inside your head.
:lmao:
Again, at least I'm talking about the Cowboys and a player for the Cowboys.

If you want to say he's in my head 24/7 that's fine, but at least I talk about a subject relevant to this site.

You seem more concerned with my opinion on things than anything that involves Cowboys and I have nothing to do with the team.

I think the defense leads the way, but once Dak comes back and gets in a groove, our offense will make the top 15. IMHO, a fairly healthy, well coached team with a top 3 defense and a say, #12 offense is a genuine contender.

fair enough and I could certainly see that, that would be all it would take

Ye
Glad to hear that for you. I am up i75 in Palmetto (outside St. Pete/Tampa). Due to her job, my wife rode the storm out in the Sarasota County EOC. She says things south of there are pretty bad (Charlotte and Lee Counties) but none probably as bad as closer to you. I was 62 miles from the eye wall in a non-evac zone. I rode it out in our shuttered house (3 year old home so coded for 150 mph winds). Very minimal damage but man the wind and noises it created hitting the aluminum shutters was crazy. The storm was predicted to head our way until it steered south at the last minute. We dodged a bullet. Sorry your area didn't.

Lived here all my life....first 38 years of my life...no hurricanes. Last 18...three almost direct hits. This one much worse than the others due to crazy surge. The wind damage isn't super bad in most places but flooding in so many places not in the flood zone. A lot of people not in flood zones lost everything.

I don’t get that either. I loved Romo but he couldn’t stay healthy.

Injuries create opportunities, which is why I’m 1000% fine with it if Rush earns the permanent starting spot over Dak. Dak needs to play well when he returns. He either will or he won’t.

The clowns bashing Dak every chance they get aren’t real Cowboys fans. They’re, well, clowns.

you are tempting fate, nephew. When that Clowns Union catches up with you it ain’t gonna be pretty

Yes, but my point remains—our offense has been temporarily limited, mostly by injury. Lamb, Gallup and Brown make up a pretty good WR group, and with the combo of Zeke and Pollard kicking in 170, we’ve got a winning balance.

Did you even read the criteria?

Elway fits that for you???? Please, elaborate.
Not saying Dak is as good as Elway ... but Elway was a QB that "could not win the big one", nor was he ever really know to be healthy all the time.

So ya, based off YOUR comments of:
Maybe Week 1 was just a blip and he really has gotten better after 7 years
Elway had a TERRIBLE season in '92, his 10th year in the league, and playing in just 12 games, he threw 10 TDs and 17 (SEVENTEEN) Interceptions

That's not just a bad week, that's a bad 3 months. What a loser.
, a major injury, and minor injuries raking up.
Elway only played in Seven 16 game seasons in his 16 year career and was considered a "tough guy" because he was always playing through injuries. Yet somehow, being an injury prone OLD guy, at 37 and 38, he was able to win Back-to-Back rings to finish off his career.

Not a long list, but you described the career of Elway pretty well. Heck, outside the injuries, you could be describing Peyton Manning to, who like Elway, "always choked in the big game". That is until Peyton's NINTH year in the league, he finally made it to, and won, a ring.

Heck, if we what to be short minded like that, for most of my life, no QB could ever win more than 4 Super Bowls. That was until a 6TH ROUND PICK said, "Hold my beer" and now has more rings that any TEAM in the league.

But hey, I wish I knew the future like you tend to act like you do.

I'm guessing you are just that bored to waste time with us "normal" (yuck) people that have to wait for everything to play itself out.

Just sayin'

then why put him back in at all this season? By then rush will have 7 games of experience to daks 1, so that makes no sense.
They should just go with rush till he plays badly, not just loses a game, or dak is semi ready.
I wonder what bellichek would do?
