Not saying Dak is as good as Elway ... but Elway was a QB that "could not win the big one", nor was he ever really know to be healthy all the time.

So ya, based off YOUR comments of:

Elway had a TERRIBLE season in '92, his 10th year in the league, and playing in just 12 games, he threw 10 TDs and 17 (SEVENTEEN) Interceptions

That's not just a bad week, that's a bad 3 months. What a loser.

Elway only played in Seven 16 game seasons in his 16 year career and was considered a "tough guy" because he was always playing through injuries. Yet somehow, being an injury prone OLD guy, at 37 and 38, he was able to win Back-to-Back rings to finish off his career.

Not a long list, but you described the career of Elway pretty well. Heck, outside the injuries, you could be describing Peyton Manning to, who like Elway, "always choked in the big game". That is until Peyton's NINTH year in the league, he finally made it to, and won, a ring.

Heck, if we what to be short minded like that, for most of my life, no QB could ever win more than 4 Super Bowls. That was until a 6TH ROUND PICK said, "Hold my beer" and now has more rings that any TEAM in the league.

But hey, I wish I knew the future like you tend to act like you do.

I'm guessing you are just that bored to waste time with us "normal" (yuck) people that have to wait for everything to play itself out.

Just sayin'
I don't think you got what I was saying.

I never brought anything up about winning a Super Bowl and Elway had already won an MVP before year 7.

My point is you're not going to find a QB that significantly improved 7 years into their career, with 1 major injury, and other minor injuries racking up. You are what you are at this point.

then why put him back in at all this season? By then rush will have 7 games of experience to daks 1, so that makes no sense.
They should just go with rush till he plays badly, not just loses a game, or dak is semi ready.
I wonder what bellichek would do?

if Brady was 100% I think Belichick puts him in……but Dak?

j/k….I think Belichick goes with the experienced guy and hopes he’s learned something thing from watching a qb win from the sideline. I’ve posted many times that I wouldn’t be surprised if Dakota comes back stronger from watching somebody else’s style and take some of the good things from it

Competition Always brings out the best and I do t want to see this defense wasted

Again, at least I'm talking about the Cowboys and a player for the Cowboys.

If you want to say he's in my head 24/7 that's fine, but at least I talk about a subject relevant to this site.

You seem more concerned with my opinion on things than anything that involves Cowboys and I have nothing to do with the team.

Not true. I talk about plenty of what the subject is. I reply to you, as you only talk about one thing. Always against Dak.

Dak has not been cleared medically to practice or play. What the media calls practice is, for Dak, rehab, not practice. Once he is cleared medically, he has to show that he’s healthy and efficient in practice, not to mention working with the offense on everything from snaps, handoffs, passes, chemistry, etc.

Who give a flying heck what Belichek would do?
I'm sorry, but Brady (who I don't even like) left and has won something without Belichek.
Belichek can't even win a division without Brady, and is on pace to miss the playoffs in 2 of the 3 years since Brady left.
Ask me this 4 years ago, and I was FULLY on Belichek's side. But I can admit when I was wrong.

Having said that, I don't think our Defense will hold EVERYONE below 20 points. And if a team scores 24+ points on us with Rush, I think the probability of losing is really, really high.

Obviously Dak doesn't always win when other teams score 24+ points on us. But what I do have actual evidence of is an offense lead by Dak can score many more points than an offense can score with Rush.

I mean, Dak has lead Offense that were easily Top-10 in scoring in multiple years, and right now, even taking out the Week 1 Dak flop, our offensive scoring ranked in the bottom half of the league in a year where offensive scoring is DOWN.

Now, if Rush can go out there and put together games with more than 25 points a game, then I'm fine with Rush being the QB for the rest of the year.

I just don't think Rush has the ability to win many games where our defense does not hold the opponents to 21 points or less, something he has never faced at the NFL level, and then is forced to pass a lot to win.

Unless we have the greatest Defense in NFL history, at some point, the QB, regardless of who it is, will have to pass to keep up and/or beat an opposing team.

Again, I could be wrong. But I just don't see Rush doing that.

OK. Then at what point do you give up on a QB when they have not won an MVP and/or Super Bowl?

I don't think you give up on a QB just because they've never won an MVP.

I think you give up on a QB when you recognize that they aren't skilled enough to carry a team if needed and will teams to victory when everything doesn't go perfect.

I was done with Dak after the 2019 season.

FRISCO, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott will throw passes Wednesday for the first time since undergoing surgery on his right thumb, but he is expected to miss his fifth straight game Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles.

"We are preparing for Cooper [Rush] to start against the Eagles," coach Mike McCarthy said Wednesday.

"You've got to trust the medical process," McCarthy said. "This is a 17-game season. That was my immediate response. I know Dak didn't want to hear it, but you got to make sure that he's right for the long haul, too."

Yes, but my point remains—our offense has been temporarily limited, mostly by injury. Lamb, Gallup and Brown make up a pretty good WR group, and with the combo of Zeke and Pollard kicking in 170, we’ve got a winning balance.

Our offensive is limited primarily by a backup QB, and to a lesser degree a OL that has struggled in pass protection

Dak-fans covering their bases now after Rush proved them wrong that the franchise would collapse after the "greatest QB ever" got hurt. Now they are pretending like they were in on Rush all along...

Speak for yourself. I am a Dak supporter and I stated we could win with Rush. I know as a foaming at the mouth hater you need Dak supporters to be some wild eyed followers at all cost, but that is utter BS

Run A long now

So you don't like any QB in human history?

I mean, a QB ...
  • Can't block for themselves
  • Can't catch their own passes
  • Can't stop other teams from scoring on every drive
So I've NEVER seen a QB "carry a team" or "will themselves to victory". They MUST get help from MULTIPLE other players or they WILL fail.

If you are looking for that kind of sport, I suggest the NBA maybe.

That kind of stuff does not exist in football, the ultimate team game.

Just sayin'

You've never seen a QB just take over a game on offense when needed? Are you trying to downplay the importance of the QB position to take some responsibility off Dak?

Did you watch the Chiefs/Bills playoff game last year?

Play great? Absolutely. Take over? Not really. Not without help.

And I have said many of times, QB is arguably the most important position in all of sports. So no, I'm not trying to simp for Dak.

As far as the Bills/Chiefs football game, I saw two QBs playing at the highest of levels.

But I also saw the top 7 receivers on both sides catch a combined 47 balls, out of 59 targets. Darn near 80% Catch Rate.

I know some fans wanted to blame "inaccurate Dak" for virtually all the WR drops in Dallas. Yet between Rush this year, and Dalton 2 years ago, the receivers have dropped plenty of balls from them too.

They get paid to catch, and just like when Crayton dropped a sure 1st down, and likely TD against the Giants in the playoffs back in the day, a QB can only do their job. Other players must do theirs too.

Now, if you are trying to point out how Mahommes "willed his team to victory" in overtime, I wonder how much PM "willed" their RB that took a short pass and rumbled for 25 yards to put them inside the 10?

But ya, you're right. It was all the QBs with absolutely no help from the other 53 at all.

So I will reiterate, if you want to see players "take over games" and/or "will their teams to victory", you may be better served watching the NBA.

That just does not happen in NFL.
