He had a tough throwing motion to change. It was so bad it was the main reason many NFL teams weren’t interested in him playing QB. In an interview John Elway said he worked with him on it but he kept reverting back to it. Tebow always had that throwing motion.
Two lasting memories of Tebow as Denver QB
-The game in Miami. He played 56 minutes of the worst football an NFL QB had ever played. He missed his RB on a check down by throwing it 10-12 feet over Moreno.
He wasn't more than 20 feet in front of him. Somehow Denver won.
-watching GM Elway trying to hide his disappointment in Denver's OT playoff win over Pittsburgh. Dude couldn't wait for Tebowmania to end so he could move past having a FB play QB. I mean, Tebow was more "Mike Alstott" than a traditional QB.
Trey Lance, a project, he may be, but he's far beyond Tebow in terms of deep ball throwing ability (he has a 75 yard TD in the NFL that nobody mentions), film study, defensive scheme recognition. He may not ever match Tebow's 2 month run as a star in the NFL, but I think it's a good bet that Lance has a better career.
