well I think Morris beats out McFadden. I think Dallas was on to something last year for that short bit when they lined Dunbar up as a WR. That leaves McFadden as the odd man out IMO. We will see

Thing is Morris is 1 dimensional.

McFadden helps us out on all 3 downs because of his blocking and catching abilities.

If anything I think Morris will probably be deactivated on game days.

Dunbar may not come back the same as well.

Honestly, I'm not sure why people think this team values Morris and/or Dunbar over McFadden. McFadden has Arkansas ties, he's another former 4th overall guy, he has size, he's obviously a good locker room guy, etc. If anyone is likely to get the boot next year, it's probably Morris. His dead money would only be $500k.

There's also this:

Alfred Morris ‏@Trey_Deuces Apr 21
..it's a crazy business that most won't ever understand. Thanks for all the well wishes even though I'm with the opposition. One last

He signed a contract with the Cowboys and then refers to his new team as "the opposition", he's obviously still a Washingtonian at heart. He's also a smart dude that didn't blow his money, he may just call it a career following this season.

Having all three guys is in no way over staffing that position for a reason we are all too familiar with.

Dont make me say it.

He may just call it a career before the season, should be interesting to observe his level of motivation.

Competition is a wonderful thing.

Nothing wrong with keeping all of them. Dunbar may miss part of the season or could even end up on IR.
Just looking at their strengths I just wonder about dmac being a guy with few carries. As depth and all he's fine but doesn't fit the blocking scheme and is a guy who actually gets better with more carries

McFadden was classier than Dez about this, which is strange.

No one here can accurately predict the bell cow or rbbc aspect of the upcoming season at this point in time. Injuries can change things in a heart beat as well as other unseen things we are not privy to. I love our rb situation at the moment, so much sweeter than it was at this time a mere year ago. Let them compete and let the chips fall where they may.

The Cowboys RB position is manned by two players that were the #4 overall picks in their respective drafts. That is some quality.

Then there is Morris, ex Commander.

.....get rid of him. Once you wear a Commander jersey you can never wash off the stench. It just stays with you like a permanent reminder of your sordid past. I think the only method to get rid of it involves an exorcism and HASMET.

by all accounts Morris shows a lot of class ..........little things like showing respect for stadium personnel up to military personnel......I'll give him a solid chance to become part of the Cowboys.

Initially I thought a high running back pick was bad news for McFadden. Not sure now. I am sure all will be in camp but wouldn't think they would keep all three. Typically you don't have two older veterans as backup running backs. We will see how they look in training camp. Morris is more of a grinder who can keep the chains moving. McFadden is probably best suited in a reserve role where he can get fill in carries when defenses are tired. Having a guy who can break a longer run may be more preferable to a back who can move the chains behind Zeke. Time will tell.

Dmac will play the Dunbar role IMO. Dunbar is no where close to coming back and will start on the Pup.
