I'm sorry, but this is a position that clearly needs fixing. But with fresh players except for Dunbar.

McFadden has been injury-prone in the past, so he certainly could be hurt. I sure hope Tony doesn't have to play out the season with C-Mike at running back.

McFadden would've looked a lot faster with some holes to run through.

I have a hard time believing that DeMarco could have ran well against the Bucs yesterday. I didn't see many running lanes being open all game. DMC got what he could. I don't know why they didn't throw it to him in space or at least try it to see if it would work out of desperation if nothing else..

How do we even know what he is if he doesn't even see the field for more than 1 carry? And if he's not cutting it, why haven't they found someone else to help split the load with McFadden? Expecting an injury prone McFadden to hold up the whole season where he is getting EVERY carry is not solid strategy.

I surely do not understand it.

We said all season and off-season we ere going to run by committee.

But what we do is just give one back the ball and hope like with Murray.

I do not understand this team.

Either do what you are going to do or just shut up about it and doon't be so disingenuous about it.

It has to be confusing for the team, too.

Run these guys and find ways to open up the play calling and utilize them.

Three things I know for certain heading into the 2015 offseason:
1. Addressing the CB position via FA and draft will be top priority
2. Drafting a running back will be a major priority unless you want Romo injured yet again.
3. Dallas will draft a bigger DT to play the 1 gap

The only thing I know for certain is we're all dying, some faster than others.

Which running back injured Romo?

Our offensive line was crushed by constant blitz packages, leaving no holes. Attach that to the fact that a back up QB is not going to be Romo and read the defense, do a hot read and throw to the open slant where the blitz is coming. People really just don't get the importance of a guy like Romo until right now. They wouldn't stack 8 in the box all game with Romo. They'd get torched.

Dunbar is injured. Randle got fired. We don't really have the backs for a committee.

He was dropping as soon as he felt a hand on him, like he was early in the season. Prior to this he was flghting for every yard, and the team was feeding of it. Very disappointed in him

This is exactly what I saw too. Definitely not the guy we'd been seeing over the past three weeks. Maybe the workload is beginning to take its' toll on him?

It's clear that defenses have keyed on stopping our running game and are daring Cassel to beat them in the air... He couldn't do it. I imagine teams will continue that approach until its clear that Romo is indeed 100% and can beat them in the passing game if they overplay the run.

Agreed

Even if DMC ends up with 1100-1200 yards this season, they still need to bring in a young back next season.

I think it has and Michael is not good enough to spell him effectively.

I am going back and wide out next April. Someway somehow. Can't go into another year with this talent.

Nope. Much like receiver, I'm surprised that they haven't made even more changes at the running back position. It seems obvious to me that they don't like or don't trust Michael to play, and if that's the case, why keep him and give up the draft pick?

Bring in a Pierre Thomas type back to get you through this nightmare of a season and then reassess what you're doing with the position in the offseason.

Garrett has proven time and time again that he doesn't know how to run a committee.

Not sure why you think #3 is certain. We were in the same boat last offseason but all we kept hearing from Marinelli was how great Hayden is. If Marinelli returns, expect the same story at DT.

I thought he looked good the previous two weeks but not very good against Tampa. In the weeks prior, I thought he got the dirty yards and ran hard and make a couple of extra yards on his runs. We didn't see that on Sunday. It was back to what we have seen previously....no real punch in the running game. As I have said countless times prior to the season, we weren't going to miss those 30-40 yard runs. Those are runs that are typically blocked or there is mistake on the defense. What we were going to miss were those 3 or 4 yard runs when they were blocked for 2. It really helped Romo last year being in 2 and 6 or 3rd and 2. It is especially important with a backup QB. Being in second/third and long is not a recipe for success for most teams....especially with a team with a backup QB.

If we go through this nightmare of a season and use a top 10 pick on a CB, I will not be happy.
