And we sign Hill & Malena

Darren McFadden off PUP list, full-go for Cowboys

Dallas Cowboys are in the midst of a running back competition in training camp, yet their top two candidates can't seem to avoid the injury bug.

Darren McFadden has been bothered all summer with hamstring injuries and Joseph Randle currently is sidelined with a strained oblique.

Health and not ability might determine who is slated to start Week 1 for the Cowboys, and it seems as though McFadden has a head start.

The team moved McFadden off the PUP list to the active roster and the running back confirmed Saturday that he's full-go for the first time this training camp. He missed Dallas' first 11 practices due to the hamstring injury that he suffered a week before training camp. The oft-injured running back also missed several offseason practices because of a different hamstring injury.

With the new additions McFadden better not have anymore hamstring issues or any other injury issues that keep him off the practice field and out of preseason games or he might not make the team. The Cowboys won't keep him around if he can't be depended on. If some of these other backs take advantage of the opportunity they're being given and shine and McFadden is still being bothered by his hammy it's going to bye-bye!

Wow....what a way to send a message to your running backs.

Look out McFaddens and Randle...here comes Benny Hill.

It tells our Threw Stooges that it is okay they can continue to be unreliable. We will never bring anyone in that could be more than camp fodder. Go get 'em, boys!

Malena and Hill were signed to be camp fodder. From everything I've heard and read, Randle is this team's starting running back. He's been consistent in practice and has gotten better and better in blitz pickup. Anything the Cowboys get out of McFadden is a bonus.

Personally, I don't know what all the hand-wringing at running back is about. This offense will be just fine. There would be just as much complaining if the Cowboys overpaid DeMarco Murray (he of one injury-free season) or set the franchise back five years by going all in for 2015 by trading for Adrian Peterson.

just curious, who would you bring? besides Chris Johnson of course

Maybe one of those awesome, game-changing, load carrying backs that are always around in the middle of August; right under the noses of 32 NFL general managers.

I'm just kidding, of course.;)

Man, I am really relieved you are not our GM. I mean, who would you go get that is out there right now, that isn't camp fodder.
Jackson, Johnson, maybe they want too much money. Maybe they just aren't worth it, make they don't have it anymore.
What is your plan, maybe you can have a meeting with the other internet GMs and come up with a solution.
Tells us after DMC and Randle and Dunbar are running their way helping the team to the playoffs.

I realize there are economics involved, but frankly the best way to motivate unreliable players is to give the front that they are not valued and they need to step up.

All three of these backs can step up. I just feel they do not feel that they have to. They know they will make the final roster because frankly, management did nothing to offset the loss of Murray.

If bringing in some grizzled vet and cutting them sends a message in camp, so be it.

Belichick has been doing that for years.

You really just do not understand basic psychology, do you?

Do you honestly believe that all three of our incumbent RBs are strong personalities who strive to succeed and show a pattern of behavior and results that reflect that desire?

Directly answer my question if you reply to my post and then we can continue the discussion.

Yea having Adrian Peterson would kind of suck the next few years.

This horse has been beaten to death already. No sense in continuing to beat it.
