I don't want to speak for Alexander as he is capable enough. However my feeling is that the answer to your question is No One...and the reason for that answer is because Alexander would have already addressed this position and we wouldn't need to fill a void in August.

Now don't get me wrong the Cowboys did address the position. By bringing in McFadden and promoting Randle to starter.

You're right that Alexander had no actual solution to offer this particular concern. Apparently he's just trying to work people up on a topic where they are susceptible to frothing again, whether he believes it or not. How surprising.

Our RB plan is the same as it's been all offseason. Nothing has changed, and we're only now getting to the point where we should expect to see if it was ever going to work. If it doesn't, the only option will be a young player from cutdowns. And that's going to be perfectly ok.

Has he ever had solution to anything? All I've ever seen from him is hate for the Cowboys.

I don't see him here for the ride if he's not healthy by the start of the season or it could end up being a bumpy ride for him and the team. The contract the Cowboys signed McFadden to which is mostly incentive based says they're not banking on him so if he's still being hampered by his hamstring when the final cuts come and one of these other backs step up McFadden could very well end up being released. If you look into his lengthy injury history when he's had hamstring issues they keep reoccurring. In 2010 he missed 5 games with a hamstring issue. In 2013 he suffered a strained hamstring and tried playing with it but wasn't effective. He aggravated it in week 9 and had to be shut down the rest of the season. He's missed at least 12 full games over his career due to hamstring problems and don't think the Cowboys aren't aware of it. He started having hamstring issues in June causing him to miss valuable OTA work and his other hamstring kept him out of the first 2 weeks of training camp.

During yesterdays PC Garrett sounded a little frustrated saying McFadden hasn't practiced much with the team since he signed due to his hamstring. If McFadden appears to still be hampered by his hamstring limiting his effectiveness and one of these other new backs steps up and impresses the Cowboys are going to have to make a tough decision. If come the final cuts he's still not right the Cowboys are going to have to move on without him because based on his history with hamstrings this is something that could linger all season causing him to miss games. If the Cowboys are going to have an effective, consistent running game they need a rotation with some healthy backs.

The team can't afford to go into the season with an injured back taking up a roster spot. McFadden is going to have to show he can do something now because he's only averaged 3.3 a carry the past 3 seasons which is the second lowest in the league over that period. The Cowboys can't put themselves in a situation where they're having to cut him during the season and bring in a back off the streets. McFadden is going to have to show the next few weeks that the hamstring issues he's had this summer are behind him and that he can run effectively if he's going to make the team.

I'm simply disagreeing for two reasons:

1. His injury history was/is no secret. I think they will see if they can get anything out of him at any point during the season.

2. Except for one year.... last year.... Murray missed almost as many games In same time frame. I think they will have some in season patience with him... As opposed to seeing absolutely nothing and just saying ***** it... You are out!

His injury history was no secret to the Cowboys and they gambled with a team friendly deal that he would stay healthy and so far he hasn't. Their fears about him have already been realized a month before the regular season and he has only a few weeks to get himself right. If he aggravates his hamstring between now and the start of the regular season forcing him out of practice again and costing him more preseason action I don't see how the Cowboys risk entering the season with him. It's going to be difficult getting much out of him during the season if his hamstring continues to bother him putting him on the sidelines rather than practicing building chemistry with his OL. Some are acting like McFadden is a proven back who's averaged 5.0 a carry the past few seasons and that the Cowboys are going to hang on to him no matter what.

He's done nothing the past few seasons and despite not having an injury last season only averaged 3.4 a carry. The Raiders had 2 backs average more than he did last season. The Cowboys don't think a whole lot of McFadden his contract speaks to that so he's going to have to show something the next few weeks to make the team. If none of the other backs take advantage of their opportunities then the Cowboys may have no choice but to hang onto McFadden but I would find it hard to believe they would hang onto him if he shows nothing in preseason and continues having hamstring issues.

As for Murray and his missed games due to injury he certainly missed a number of them but when he was on the field he was productive a lot more productive than McFadden has been when he's been on the field. While McFadden was averaging 3.3 a carry the past 3 seasons Murray has averaged close to 5.0 a carry over that period. McFadden has 2 big negatives working against him he hasn't been productive and he has a lengthy injury history. What scares everyone with McFadden is the nagging soft tissue injuries that keep occurring and linger. The Cowboys may have to go long at RB to cover themselves the next few weeks should be interesting.

Damn you type a lot in every response or audio post? Lol

If I had to bet I would say I am closer to what they will do with him than you.....We'll see. ;)

I type I'm like a word processor enabling me to cover every avenue. McFadden will be here provided he's not continuing to be hampered by his hammy and he's running well. If his hammy starts acting up again limiting his performance/practice time and one of the other backs steps up and looks better McFadden won't make the team. That's what I'm saying but someone with an agenda will undoubtedly attempt to twist my comments leaving out all the details I've mentioned saying I predicted McFadden wouldn't make team. lol

I'm still going to wait to panic. He tweaked his hamstring training in July. They decided to go ultra conservative and held him out a month.

I'm very interested to see him on the field.
