It isn't even close. Now the question is can he stay healthy? I'm not holding my breath, but he is superior in every way.

Randle was better last week. McFadden was definitely better today.

I don't think we really know much of anything yet ... other than it was good to see McFadden make some nice runs.

McFadden ran against 6 and 7 man fronts. Also Minny didnt play all their starters at that time.

Randle ran against 8 man fronts most of the time.

McFadden seems to get down very easy if someone touches his feet or lower legs. He falls forward all the time still i'd like to see him break those wanna be tackles.

That is one of the knocks on McFadden. Being able to burst through the hole when it develops has never been an issue. Being able to maintain his balance when he's hit low or find the secondary hole has been an issue.

With Randle, it didn't seem like he saw things develop fast enough tonight, and strength to fight for extra yardage remains a concern for me.

Good to see McFadden get what was there to get tonight for the most part.

I still think Randle starts and gets more carries by seasons end. In games it's not really going to matter. If both are healthy, the one who's running better that game should and probably will get more carries. I really don't care who does better, gets the most carries or starts the most games. As long as one of them is effective and the running game is good I don't care who it is.

Neither is an option that inspires season long confidence but, based upon what i'm seeing, McHammy seems to be the better option.

They both got what was blocked tonight. McFadden's carries were blocked a bit better. The line seemed somewhat pedestrian tonight, and part of me wonders if that's because they were able to cheat an extra man inside because of lack of Dez and the downgrade from Martin to Bernadeau.

Hopefully McFadden can have a semi injury free year like DeMarco FINALLY had last year. Folks forget Murray was just as injury prone as McFadden until last year.......

Also, Randle is running against a fresh defense against 8 in the box to start the game.

You don't just show up and run on teams week in and week out. It's a grind.

Based on a couple of runs in a preseason game? Cool story bro.

Yeah, I agree. DMac looked good in his limited carries, but I wouldn't come to the conclusion that he is better than Randle on that sample size.

McFadden had much bigger holes to run through, but he looked good.

Concerning was Randle in pass protection. That might win the job for McFadden.

lies... I hate when ppl do that. McFadden has produces a whole career (several years) of season shortened by injury. DeMarco is not in that same category....

I don't buy Murray was injury prone. He had some bad luck, but it was never the same injury.

The legend of Demarco Murray.

He'll be remembered as the best RB of all time by the end of this preseason.

I still see no reason to put him down as a player when he was obviously great for us last season (and really, the year before as well).

Replacing a back who rushed for 1,800-plus isn't supposed to be easy. I just hope we can do it adequately, and it was nice to see McFadden have some success when he was out there to give us some hope.

I will say this, as someone who does not think we did enough to make sure we've adequately replaced Murray, I wish we would stop the Murray stuff both ways. It needs to be all about what can the backs we have now do for the team. We're obviously not getting Murray back, so he no longer is part of the equation.
