McGahee for a 3rd round pick.

Jones plus a 4th round pick is worth more than just a 3rd round pick if that is indeed what Buffalo is looking for in my opinion.

Yes, but you don't need McGahee, Jones, and Barber. Part of the deal is to get rid of Jones.

McGahee averaged 3.8 yards his last 2 or 3 seasons. And thats on a Buffalo team who has no passing game. I'd say that is pretty good. I dont' think Julius could average that in Buffalo.

You honestly believe this? McGahee is twice the back that Jones is...I am all for piming our players, but this is flatout being a homer.

If that's flat-out being a homer, what is declaring McGahee as twice the back Julius is?

It's not like there is any actual evidence, besides college hype and draft position, of McGahee being any better than Julius.

A pair of average backs.

I work with a hard-core Bills fan, and he is shedding NO tears over the thought of losing McGahee.

No thanks.

If he's so good, why is he available?

Like Drew Brees last year.

This time you're right, but that is flawed logic. There are any number of reasons, and many have nothing to do with talent.

You're taking what carphalen said literally "Twice the back"......... ok, thats a stretch, but I don't think there is any debate across the country who is a better back. Its McGahee hands down.

I love the boys as much as anyone on here, but I'm not going to sit here and say Julius is all that and slice of cheese, cause he flat out isn't.

Carp hit it right on the nose for calling that other guy a homer.

I'm a Cubs fan, so I'm all too familiar with the "wait till next year" song and dance, and thats all I ever hear about Julius.

did you compare the 2's stats last year?

notice his production went down last year, and he only averaged like 3.6 yards per carry? that and the attitude is probably why they're shopping him

at least Julius improved his numbers last year

Not really. According to NFL.com, he's averaged 4.0 (04), 3.8 (05) and 3.8 (06). His yards went down but so did his carries.

Willis is my boy and one of my favorite College players of all time. He also had one of the better seasons out of any college running back ever.

I was high on this guy coming out of college and even after the torn knee I still said he was worth a 1st round pick.

He needs to get out of Buffalo but im more the satisfied with what we are doing at runningback right now and I dont think we need McGahee.

Also if Julius's brother is any indicator then Julius is far from finished developing.

I love Willis but im not interested.

They're both average.

Your perception of McGahee is just skewed. If he is better than Julius, it's marginal. There's certainly no proof otherwise. Julius has avaraged a better ypc, and has similar 20+ numbers and TDs the past two years, and more ypg for his career than McGahee, despite being a platoon back.

You can excuse McGahee's production if you want, but no amount of excusing makes him even marginally better than Julius. A pair of average backs. Why get another when we can have JJ for free?

I also read where he's not happy in Buffalo. Can't say I blame him; it really gets cold up there, lots of snow & not a lot to do particularly, if I'm not mistaken, for a kid from Florida (I think that is where he went to school?).

they are about the same back. but jones is'nt a f.a. after next year and willis is and he wants big money. he wants out of bill's country, and he wants big money. i would just as soon stay with jones and save the few million dollars

that's funny, since Julius' carries per game went down in '06, from '05, and he improved his yards per carry average

It is funny. If you look at the backs last three seasons, McGahee has more yards. Now, I think it's fair to say that JJ had a better Average last year but as you clearly pointed out, we have two backs, of which, Barber actually was more effective. This tells me that we were a decent running team last year. In fact, I think we were something like 13th in the league. Buffalo, on the other hand, was something like 27th. These guys could not run the football last season and McGahee did not have the added advantage of a good passing game and another back to help him. I think it's all relative but I also think that if you switch the two backs, JJ doesn't produce the same kinds of numbers as McGahee did in that Buffalo offense.

He's not happy in Buffalo. Not exactly a fan favorite after saying in public that the team should be moved to canada. He's made other statements about not liking the city itself, and the weather.

Things to that effect.

I think it would be a big improvement over Julius.

shoudl be mentioned to that even the owner himself said the team would be better off relocating

all I know is that McGahee wasn't stellar in '06, receiving less carries, and is now on the trading block

I don't know what Jones' contract looks like or when it's up but having said that, I do believe that McGahee is a better back then what last season showed. That Buffalo offense is really bad. I would have to wonder what he could do in an offense with other weapons. Could be a very nice match.

Rumor has it, according to ESPN anyway, that the Bills are looking to trade McGahee for a 3rd round pick. I find this very intriguing. Remember, McGahee isn't very old, 23 or 24, and still has alot of football in front of him. Ok, he's no choir boy, but he's not PacMan Jones either.

Who would pull the trigger on that trade? I think I would do it. Or better yet, if the bills were interested, since they will be shopping for a RB, trade them Julius and a 4th for McGahee.

Thoughts??????????

#### EDIT ##### McGahee will turn 26 this Oct.

this guy is average...he is no better than what we have here and he has had issues there...apparently most of his teammates and coaches dont like him...if he were an elite player who had had major knee injuries, maybe then you'sd think of it

but since he isnt an elite RB, why bother...he is ok...thats it
