The hell I don't. I hope every damn starter is injured when we play them. So does everybody else. Cheer for injuries? You're damn right I do.

So how do you really feel? I give you credit. It's not considered classy or PC to say what you said - but at least you're honest!

Sounds a little contradicting to me ...

I respect your ability to determine what is "classy", and you have been. But your fans aren't known as the most "classiest". I don't want to sit here for a second and believe any fan that would actually be upset that they knew a star player is going to be out against his team that week. We can be "classy" or we can be honest. Once again I wish no injury on any player.

Football is not a classy sport if you want class go play cricket. Teams do not go out and try to injure players but when it happens it happens. Remember this is a competition and everyone is out to win.

Alright I'll bite on this one ...

While my response is directed toward all of your post, I'd like to pin-point on "I don't want to sit here for a second and believe any fan that would actually be upset."

McNabb's potential to agitate his exisiting injury in the groin/chest are concerns that all Eagle fans have (classy or otherwise). Here's the difference, I don't have to be upset that an opponent player is injured to know what's appropriately stated or not. It takes just as much effort to say something encouraging than it does to say something disparagingly.

For example, if Bledsoe comes up lame in a game, what difference would it make for me to say ...I really wish his injury is not damaging enough to take him out of the game?
None! I choose to lean toward the positive because ...what goes around ...!
Besides, my statement is not going to make that injury any less/more severe anyway, so why not say the right thing.

Here's the difficult part. I realize that there are very classy Cowboy, Skins, Giants, and Eagles fans out there. But as such, there's the other element lurking too. It's difficult to defend against "the other elements" and not collaterally hit the class -- it's a delicate balance. So when I see the "cream of the crop," I let them know! Sometimes my hands get dirty trying to defend against the rift-raft.

Otherwise, I'll mix it up with you, because it's supposed to be fun, not hate! Even towards Cowboy fans ;)

At least that's the way it should be. No offense but the entire Eagles fanbase has done more to go away from that than any.

Definition of "class(y)"

Elegance of style, taste, and manner
Highly stylish; elegant.

Elegance has nothing to do with football granted people use the word out of context all the time.

Missed my point there TALON. Coaches scheme against certain players or offenses and defenses. Say a key player on either side is injured and out. Certainly no one is going lose sleep knowing they wont face their best players. It would be ridiculous to think that. So why would I sit here and say, gosh I really wanted to face so and so today, it might make a win that much tuffer. Silly eh?. Injuries are part of the game, and sometimes determine the fate of many teams, good or bad. While i dont wish any more harm to McNabby, I'm not begging for him to get well to face my team. Its totally different "in" game when a player goes down. I wish well for the player, but if he is out the rest of the game......so be it.

Agree that it football should classy -- and it is! Fans from any franchise cannot take away from football's ability to have class -- the players, coaches, owners and NFLPA/Commissioner are in control of that. Fans fall into a different category, and while you may believe fans represent a significant component that reflect On the franchise -- they really do not. At least that's how I see it.

It's easy to pull out a dictionary (what was it Websters, Collegiate, ...?) and copy down words that give the basic concepts about something. But it's another thing when an NFL player is about to get carted off the field and the opponent team players rush over to wish that player a speedy recovery.

It's class when the losing coach runs across the field to congratulate the winning coach after they've just finished a 60-minute war.

No disrespect, but if you can't see "class" in football, you really should turn-in your fan card!

I hope this is NOT true......we want to beat them at their best.....

And what chance do we have of that? Unless you want to have 2 extra losses guaranteed on the roster, I want the Eagles as banged up as possible.

Face it, at 100%, the Iggles are on a different level than the Cowboys. If we can't beat the Commanders, we sure as hell can't beat the Eagles.

Pardon me, I may Have missed your point initially. But, there's an expression out there (somebody help me with this one:rolleyes: ), goes something like ...

"The true test of a warriors metal can be measured by the fierceness and courage of his enemy." ...or something like that -- you get the meaning I'm sure.

Don't think I missed the point this time.

www.dictionary.com

The concept you have in mind I totally agree with. I am merely saying I don't agree with the word being used.

How about character or moral?

Class gets used out of context all the time and this is one example of that.

There's a fine line between courage and stupidity, and I think you're flirting with it
