I believe everyone has the right to freedom of speech, and their own opinion.
Verdict ...seriously no disrespect! But don't wave the flag in my face on this one. I
love the rights and freedoms that go along with freedom of speech, etc -- I've served my country and fought for those same liberties. We're all Americans here (at least most of us). But you don't rush into a movie theater and shout fire just because you don't like the movie (
clarification ...you don't have to make dirty remarks about an injured player just because you think it will raise your team's chances of victory)!
In my humble opinion, this politically correct stuff has gone WAY too far I think it is entirely appropriate for a poster to say that he doesn't mind facing the Eagles at less than 100%
Have you read some of the Posts clearly here? You've minimized this issue significantly! Here's some quotes for you to review again ...

The hell I don't. I hope every damn starter is injured when we play them. So does everybody else. Cheer for injuries? You're damn right I do.
ha ha. I agree. Fork this sympathy nonsense. These are multi million dollar players. As long as these injuries aren't life threatening or permanent ... I could care less if they're all on crutches
as long as the injury isnt career ending or hurts his life I hope he sits the whole year for all I care. Its part of the game
Is that enough examples to convince you that we're not talking about the mentality of meeting an opponent team less than 100 percent -- we're talking about advocating injury to encourage enthusiastic support. You're wrong about your observations.
I would guess that a full 90% of this board was pleased by the misery faced by the Eagles this past offseason with Owens' antics, the issues with Westbrook, et al. I will include myself in that category.
Huh!? ...different topic. You must have cut and pasted this post (sorry, that was rude of me -- I witdraw that statement).
While I doubt most fans would wish injury upon a player that is life threatening, or causes permanent injury to a player I am sure that most fans WOULD be happy that IF a player was going to be injured, they would be happy it is an opponents' player rather than his own team,
You're stepping all over your tongue with contradictions here. Stop it!
I will carry it a step further, that, if most Cowboys (are you speaking for "most" Cowboy fans?) fans were truthful (are you saying "most" Cowboy fans are not truthful?),
...
YOUR team, the Eagles, cheered while M. Irvin lay motionless on the ground, POSSIBLY paralyzed. That was REALLY classless.
Hell yeah that was a classless act by some of my fellow fans! I've always loved the way Michael Irvin played football -- he's one of my best NFL personalities/players. I would really have liked to still see him scoring touchdowns. But you're using that old argument to insight and garner support from fellow Cowboy fans to support what you're saying. Actually you're challenging their intelligence because you think they can't see through your weak justification via your use of a sensitive issue between our two teams.
Listen you've heard the expression "two wrongs, don't make a right" well ...there are classless fans in all franchises and in all sports. You choose which side of ethics you'd Like to be placed! So don't try to make your point by pouring salt into some old wounds. That's low!
Our founding fathers fought and DIED for, among other things, the right to freedom of speech. Do not surrender that right for any reason, for any purpose, no matter the rationale.
Yada, yada yada ...listen, I fought -- did you (if you did, I applaud you; if you didn't, then what do you know about putting your life on the line?) Many of my Uncles, and Other relatives spilled American blood. What's your point -- that doesn't belong in this post and it's inappropriate.
Ok, I am off my soapbox now.
You were never on a the proverbial "soap box."
This post is about ethics, not freedom of speech! No one is saying
shut up! Some of us are saying sometimes it's best to be quiet and let people suspect you're a fool (third person use) than to remove all doubt by opening your mouth and inserting your foot!
