Melton Deal vs Hatcher Deal

OK, I see. You are talking about this years salary. The discussion was based on what they made last year. Couldn't figure out why the numbers were not sinking up.

He signed that contract last year. 2013

Before that he was on his rookie contract.

Right, but he didn't make this

2014__1,500,000_2,250,000__3,750,000__10,500,000

last year, which is why I didn't understand why the figures you were working off of didn't match what I was seeing. Again, the earlier discussions were around 2013 Salaries.

In 2013 he was slated to make 1.4 million (off his rookie contract) They extended him and gave him more than that (15 million SB) 4 million base.

Right, I understand. What I'm saying is the numbers you referenced reflected 2014 salaries. That's not what was discussed, heretofore. That's all I'm saying.

He made 4 million base and got a 15 million signing bonus in September of 2013 so yes those numbers were for 2013 too.

But anyway your whole point was Melton wasn't worth his contract compared to other players contracts. And as I've proven you were off base. No way to sign any of them last year also.

The way it's written up, it's a one year deal that could be spread over two years. That's what I'm saying. The Skins have flexibility to do what they want here, based on what they can afford.

Why do you keep clinging to the "one year" deal? They are not paying Hatcher 10.5m for one year. It's at least a 2 year 13.5m deal, which is very fair.

It would cost them 1.5m more in cap space to cut him in 2015 vs keeping him.

Seems fair if he's playing 3tech DT.
I think it's high if your playing Hatcher at end in a 3-4.

More than I would pay for him, but according to the market and the year Hatcher had, it's not bad. You always have to a pay a premium to add a Free Agent. I was responding more to ABC insisting that Washington was only looking at it as a one year 10.5m deal, which would be crazy for a 3-4 DE.
