The games I will be paying attention to this weekend for draft position purposes.

NY Giants at Carolina Either team losing helps Dallas. I would almost rather see the Giants win so it messes up their draft pick.
New England at Chicago We need NE to win. Hopefully the colder weather has the Bears wanting to hibernate
Atlanta at New Orleans Geaux Saints
Minnesota at Jacksonville Need the Jags to pull it off and I don't mean the Jags that play with the star on their helmet. Trevor probably won't play so it is doubtful
Tennessee at LA Chargers We need the mighty Titans to show up
NY Jets at Arizona Come on ARod, play like you used to play against the Cowboys
Miami at LA Rams Time to get your team on a roll Tua. Please slide.

Crazy how much better their new ownership group is at building a contender than the guy that's been doing it since the late 80s. If you fire McCarthy, retain Q as HC, keep Fowler, Armstrong, and Biadasz, bring in Wagner and any of Ekeler, Barkley, or Henry, we're looking at a completely different team. Take Dak's shiny new contract out of the equation, with a few restructures and clever contract structuring all of this is possible. Instead, we're looking at a rough time ahead of us. Very unfortunate.
GM Jethro at his finest.

Apparently he just said something comparing NFL contracts to 1 year scholarships. He is definitely losing it quickly. Maybe I hat is why 70% team is on a 1 year deal.

Me brain trust at the group home has crunched the numbers and it isn't looking pretty like Mamie Van Doren.

Keep in mind we have losses ...um er ...games against the Eagles (2), Washington (2), Tampa Bay and Cincinnati.

What would 6-11 fetch us in the draft?
Does it really matter? Dallas could go 0-17 and they would pass on a big arm talented QB with pedigree. Dak is holding the team back.

Looks like a steaming pile of pooh.
6-11 gets you in a position to grab a coveted player in the 2025 draft.

I would be curious to know the context of that conversation, but it would not surprise me if it is true. I think he has convinced himself that he is so good at acquiring personnel through the draft that he does not need to commit to free agents for more than a year or two. His track record proves this theory.

The Cowboys are better than most in the draft, but virtually everyone else is out making bold moves in March and April, whereas Jerry and crew are content with visiting the Mediterranean on his yacht, and picking through the scraps after everyone has already improved.

It has been infuriating watching this team replay the same song and dance year in and year out. At what point do they realize that their hubris is their undoing? Is Jerry Jones really that close to full blown senility? At what point does his family get involved and force him to retire? None of it makes sense, and the more time passes, the more senseless it becomes.

so what?
I know you have to uphold your rep as the primary homer on the board but you do know how bad its looking now, right?
To say it is bad before he even plays for the Cowboys is ignorant. It could be bad, it could be good or somewhere in between.

I agree. Wha is done is done. Like auntie Yunice's restraining order against me family. Done.
Look at it this way, chap, there is no further harm done to us if we extend Bingo a chance.
Even a fool such as Yoda can hit it right once every 10 times.

Me thinks one more win is it for the season. We might be favored only once. We are getting killed at home so home cooking is like getting food poisoning.

I'd rather just tank the rest of the season, that'd give us at least the 5th selection probably. Trade up a few spots and get a QB. This team needs new spark. Look how Washington turned their whole franchise around after taking a QB.

They also hired a really good GM and had a ton of cap space to add free agents. Apples and Oranges comparison.

3-14
2nd pick
I'll take it.
Any QB not named Sanders

Do you really think they will draft a qb that high after just signing Dak? You’re setting yourself up for disappointment I believe

They have lots of needs a qb don’t fix what ails the team

They literally can draft any position and it will fill a need so many players have fell off the deep end

6 wins??? Who are they going to beat? Carolina ??? They run the ball pretty well so Carolina probably gets the win. Giants ?? Won by 5 with a healthy qb . That game will determine who is the worst in the league.

Youre right, we arent going QB in the 2025 draft. 2025 is pretty much already a lost cause and we arent fixing/plugging the holes with just $30m CAP (WHICH INCLUDES this years carry over and the annual increase).

The questions are going to be whether we kick the can and heavily restructure Dak's $89 hit, or allow the new Head Coach bed in his gameplan (with pretty much existing roster) and evaluate what he needs moving forward ....2026. This MAY include, cutting Dak (as a Post June 2026) and draft a QB that can play the game the coach wants.

With our long list of needs, it's probably prudent to trade back in the first round of 2025 and look to add picks in 2026.

But as we know Jerry wants to compete every year.
