Confiscatory rates. Jeeze. I just cannot imagine anyone complaining about these prices. Yes, its a bit more expensive than a McDonald's but anyone who even blinks at those prices has no business going to a game much less eating at one unless its a once in a lifetime trip. (And for those you are going to ruin for yourself if you complain about the nickle and dimes)

Lets assume you bought for four people a burger, fries and a few beverages. You are out what an extra $150 over what you would pay at a fast food joint? If you ordered the same food at a slightly upscale restaurant (the only kind that will really serve Wagyu) you are probably only $50 over for 4 people. (I won't even try to compare real Kobe. I paid $35 an ounce in vegas as year or so ago for Filet) Yes, you would get table side service but no game atmosphere. So, an extra $12.50 per person over a similar meal is confiscatory? I cant even believe I am talking about this. Have you ever ordered room service in a moderate hotel like a Hyatt or Hilton? $18-25 for a burger and fries and I get to watch a game on a tiny 28" TV.

Wow.

I retract my image comment at KJJ and reissue it to this dude.

I totally agree with you. I can't stand smug, simplistic responses like 'if you don't like it,.....etc'

The poster adds nothing to the debate and deludes him/herself into believing that a full-stop ending has been put to the discussion.

How did the original post have anything to do with being an internet tough guy? Or have you just been breathlessly waiting to use that picture?

why are you people eating during the game anyway?

it's a lot easier to catch a beer buzz if you eat after drinking :)

What's it going to be then, eh?

I guess its just the college kid in me that thinks those prices are ridiculous.

It is not just you. The average person wouldn't pay those kinds of prices normally anywhere, there is no reason it should be different just because it is in the Jones Mahal. I can understand the idea behind "ambiance" but that is outright gouging and over the top silly. Kobe beef? How pretentious can you get? Eat before you go to the game or better yet, tailgate. I think most people should be able to survive for four hours.

I know folks that take candy and pop cans to movies. Alcohol has gone in to some venues with baby gear. How good are the ushers at Palace in ferreting out contraband? Beef jerky in a belt looks like a winner. Call it an arbitrage operation.

Would they let me take in an empty cup and root beer mix?

Are you sure? Doesn't 'Kobe beef' come from the Japenese breed of 'Wagyu' cattle?

Or are you saying that it's merely 'Kobe-style' beef - derived from the interbreeding of Wagyu cattle with Angus (and, no - NOT our fellow zoner Angus!)?

It is likely Wagyu.

It is simply dishonest to call it Kobe. Wagyu is cheaper and, to my palate, nowhere near as good. Don't get me wrong, Wagyu is really good but Kobe is the kind of beef that you can eat practically raw and have it melt in your mouth

I think a 40 year old man nursing a bottle that looks like it's filled with apple juice will give it away.

So I tried a couple of menu items last night at the concert and I must say, it's worth every penny.

I've used a diaper bag several times to sneak alcohol. If you have a few dirty ones in a plastic bag on the top it really keeps security from searching too deeply.

Haha I laughed out loud at this. That's brilliant.

Then why do people pay $8, or whatever it is now for a tub of popcorn at a movie. And I'm sure their drinks are as ever bit expensive at $6 also. It's all relative.
I agree, it's rediculous and gouging, but people pay outrageous prices everywhere. What does a hot dog cost at Disney now, that the kids never finish eating anyway.
What is a beer and hamberger at other stadiums?
I use to eat at home or a bar & grille across from Texas Stadium before we would walk on over the the game.
There are plenty of food places within walking distance to the new stadium.

The average person lines up at those concessions and willingly pays those prices at every stadium, concert, movie theater, theme park, etc., in existence. It's not gouging if it's common practice and reasonable.

Just because you can get a hot dog cheaper at a fast food drive through doesn't mean you should expect to pay that much at a football stadium.

Holy cow, it's like people think they have a right to be cheap or something. If you can't afford it, don't pay for it. The rest of us will.

Jack in the Box is a bit more expensive than McDonalds. A 200%+ premium isn't a "bit more" man...
but anyone who even blinks at those prices has no business going to a game much less eating at one unless its a once in a lifetime trip. (And for those you are going to ruin for yourself if you complain about the nickle and dimes)
I can't follow your train of thought off the tracks here - if you find a $9 beer outrageous, you can't go the game, because... what, it is outrageously overpriced, and you have surrendered your right to be discriminating? What's next, we have to shut up about the pay toilets because we paid $125 for mid-tier seats?

Lets assume you bought for four people a burger, fries and a few beverages. You are out what an extra $150 over what you would pay at a fast food joint? If you ordered the same food at a slightly upscale restaurant
Do you REALLY think the food quality is going to rival a slightly upscale restaurant? Or do you think it closer to McDonalds, or to a Health Code Violation Paradise with temporary workers hired at low wages unconcerned with food preparation and safety? I'm going with the latter...

(the only kind that will really serve Wagyu) you are probably only $50 over for 4 people. (I won't even try to compare real Kobe. I can't either, but for a different reason - you really think you are going to get premium cuisine with real Wagyu beef? If that's the case, why not serve me a plain old USDA Choice burger with a regular bun for $6 and call it a day? The chances of the Kobe burger actually having high grade Kobe beef is slightly lower than the Kobe burger actually being made with meat ground from the remains of Kobe Bryant.

Have you ever ordered room service in a moderate hotel like a Hyatt or Hilton? $18-25 for a burger and fries and I get to watch a game on a tiny 28" TV.
No, because it's a gyp, and normally only paid by people who can expense it back to a business account - I bet you haven't really *paid* for it either. I have however traipsed across the street to Friday's and paid half as much for food twice as good.

That said, my daughter would love your avatar.

I agree. It has nothing to do with "affording it". Not to brag, but between the wife and I, we pull down alot of money per year, but I won't buy food or drink there, because I don't enjoy being robbed.

Call me cheap, or whatever, something about paying that kind of money, and jerry laughing at me for it, just makes whatever I'm tasting not taste as good.

Could be worse. I went golfing yesterday at a Country Club and order 2 hot dogs (one for me and one for the other guy) and 2 Diet cokes. Cost? $25.

At least they are serving Kobe beef at Cowboys Stadium.
