Merrill Hodge just called RW out on ESPN

Just imagine the possiblities if they play the Bengals, the Roy Williams matchup and paradox would make this place explode.

Roy is this teams 4th receiving option. Patrick crayton has been more explosive and reliable than this scrub. My least favorite Cowboy because all he does is make excuses, Owens was a cancer but at least he made plays.

What sloppy routes are you referring to? Or are you just listening to BSPN to get your own opinion? And the guy has injured ribs. Does that have anything to do with your stamina or breathing? Maybe that's why the routes are sloppy? Maybe why he has alligator arms? Or is that just an excuse to you?

Pointing out the fact that the guy is never where he is supposed to be, when he is supposed to be. Other receivers on the team dont seem to have that problem nearly as much. Poor route runner. Pom pom squad out in force this AM.

If you are running lazy, sloppy routes, how are you playing hard?

He's not running lazy, sloppy routes period. He's never been a "precise" route runner. There are a lot of (bigger) guys in the league who aren't. Miles Austin doesn't run precise routes, that's not hurting him atm.

what really sucks is being "lectured" by someone who gets their talking points from ESPN announcers.

Leave RW alone! His herpes is flaring up.

did not see Merril Hodge. But if he called Roy out BEFORE he talked about the Dallas Cowboys beating what the experts have said was a top tier team...then I won't listen. Roy is a sub-plot...he is NOT the big story.

Said he is supposed to be number one reciever, but runs "lazy", "sloppy" routes and Romo stopped looking his way. If you notice the offense started clicking after Romo stopped trying to go to RW. So I ask the apologists what will it be next, his ribs, his foot, or asthma next? How bout he is a an average talent masquerading and getting paid like a go to receiver?

Merril Hodge ?

:lmao2:

No I have been pointing this out for weeks, read some of my prior post on this subject. By the way, where did you play or coach? Yah, thats what I thought.

Looking at those jumping all over Roy I am content that its nothing. Consider the sources.....

This is getting embarrassing .....

yes, the pigment-challenged Deion Sanders of the NFL braintrust.

Yah, anybody who actually played the game and points out the obvious comes under instant credibility attack by the pom pom squad.

I don't know if brain and Merril Hodge should go in the same sentence unless the word mushed is in it.

talk about space cadets... whew..!

Well, I would trust Merrill Hodge's knowledge of NFL football more than anyone on this site. I mean, unless you've played in the NFL, why would your word be worth anything?

That being said, I don't think it's any great mystery that Roy Williams isn't a very good route runner. We've seen tape on him and how he doesn't have quick fit. I mean, that's really not a criticism anymore it's so obvious.

Roy Williams is a one-dimensional receiver. He is a long strider and a tall receiver. If you use him that way, then you won't be disappointed. If you're looking for him to be a precise route runner or set up the deep pass with choppy steps as if to sell a short pass, then you're disappointing yourself.

Be that as it may, Austin is developing greatly, Crayton isn't as bad as the hate he gets, and we still have a promising but very, very green Olgetree and draft picks to select a top receiver in the draft, if one falls our way.

Now, really, isn't the time to be worried about the receiving corp or Roy Williams. With the backs we have and Austin emerging and Witten, Roy Williams has become more an afterthought than anything.

If Merril Hodge talks any louder he'll knock himself out again.
