About what exactly? If your saying that Miles is the best route runner we have and that Romo trusts him, OK. That's fine but remember, only a couple of weeks ago, there were legions of people on this board who wanted Miles gone because of a pick that Romo threw against Denver. Everybody was ready to right him off because he couldn't run a pattern.
TO was one of the best WRs in the history of this game and he ran crappy routes. Moss is the same way. Roy Williams is never going to be a great route runner but that doesn't mean that he can't be an impact. Some routes he won't run as well as Miles or Crayton. Some routes, he'll run better. The trick is for Romo to trust him and for Roy to catch the damn ball. It just takes a little time and patients is all.
That's all I'm saying. I really didn't care one way or the other if we signed Williams or not. I'm no expert but I do know some players develop quick some not so quick. Williams has always been an average player. Of course he played on a below average team so people had the idea he would be better here because we have better talent to surround him with.
Hodge just pointed out what Williams has always been. Some guys get away with it (owens) some guys don't. Austin still doesn't rate top billing in my world yet. He seems to be maturing, he could still fall from grace.
The difference seems to be he is working hard to make sure he doesn't.
I would have signed a one legged, half blind WR to rid this team of owens.
So I guess in my world we are ahead with Williams.
