Merriman suspended

per ESPN...

Merriman has a good excuse why he tested positive for steroids... he will tell soon.

Merriman was taking something that enhanced his performance, thus enhancing his team's performance.

Irvin was taking a substance that only damaged his body, and in turn hurt the team.

Hey, if you're going to have abusers on your team, they might as well be doing something that HELPS the team.

Ahhhh... I see... If it ultimately helps the team, that is better??

So if Dwayne Goodrich had run over say Donovan McNabb then it would have been less of an issue because he ultimately helped the team?

Just making sure I'm understanding you.

Yeah, you're right, what was Bob Dole thinking.

The guy doing the drugs that harm is body is a much better bet.

Geez, Mike Irvin's coke problem never threatened anyone's livlihood on the field. MI was his own victim.

Do you remember why Gastineau was so despised? Flat out hated, not just by opponents but his OWN team-mates?

Why Romonowski played out his career under a continuous cloud?

It was because roiders present a danger to other players that is above and beyond what any player should have to face.

And roiding is about personal self-interest- bigger biceps, bigger stats, bigger contracts.

ROYS = bigger payoffs. SACKS = bigger payoffs.

It's selfish - to the core.

If you're not big enough or strong enough to compete honestly, tough luck - join 75 million other American men with insufficient size but enough integrity not to cheat.

A drug abuser is a drug abuser.

It doesn't matter whether the drug is Cocaine, Weed, Heroin or if the person is doing Steroids.

This started because Bob Dole said he'd still take Merriman on the Cowboys, even knowing that he used steroids.

Which is no different than anyone here who would take Irvin on the Cowboys, even though he used cocaine.

Both are bad, and both end in players getting suspended, but at least Merriman is smart enough to do something that helps him and his team.

you put what i said in blod print then assume im saying something else. i said alot of players do that stuff. not everybody.

Your attempting to paint a people with a broad brush. Its pretty obvious. By saying things like a lot of players get caught your implying that more people are doing it. So yes your making just about the same argument.

looks like i have left u speechless Mr.Dole. well shouldnt be long till the rest do the same. Good Night everyone

Guess thats me. All I'm wondering about is his performance when he comes back. He could very well be awful without the juice. It will be interesting to watch.

It will be interesting to watch all the Merrimites defend him ......

"he is just rusty" ...... "he is depressed" ......... " he needs Bob Dole to rub his back" .....

;)

I've been pointing that out without naming the poster for fear it would embarrass him.

what is to be embarrassed about? he called it and said bookmark it (IIRC). that sort of moxie needs to be honored.

Why can't anyone here read?

It's not OK to do steroids or any other drug.

But don't condemn one guy when you won't do the same to others who have done worse.

Mort says Merriman has a story to tell?

Can't wait. :)

Yeah, I wonder what the excuse will be.

"I took the wrong bottle of pills"

"Its a conspiracy, I was framed"

"I just borrowed them from Ray Lewis"
