It's not hard for anyone with a brain to understand.

Let's put it in the simplest terms possible.

If you asked Bob Dole today, "Hey, would you have taken Merriman over Ware after last season, even though you knew he'd get busted for roids today?", obviously, the answer would be no.

If you ask Bob Dole, "Hey, would you take Merriman that, unbeknownst to you, had been roiding while he has dominated the NFL for the last year and 7 weeks, over Ware?", the answer would have been yes.

Peppers was still suspended, maybe not for roids but if Merriman was busted for a "dietary supplement" the reaction here would be the same.

Bob Dole would still take a roiding Merriman over Ware, most of the league is on something anyway.

Clearly, I would still take a Bob Dole post with the a big bold font over a Bob Dole post with nothing but scrawny normal test as equally bereft of logic. If I had only know that the font size would have been made bigger and bolder before I had read it, but I'd still read it.
