Agreed, we have a healthy stock of pass rushers and no bulk.Stopping the run isn’t gonna happen for this team this season. It’s impossible to fix that issue with the current personnel on the field. Maybe next year……..maybe
I like this, because some don't realize that Parsons is just as bad against the run as LVE.I like it, but he looks like an LVE clone in everything except rushing the QB right now.
Ok coach. You know all the fixes, right?Stop playing parsons at DE and play him in the middle at linebacker. Stop saving him for 3rd downs.
Looks like I have a stalker.Ok coach. You know all the fixes, right?
Personally, I'm tired of watching Parsons look like an average LBer at best! Oh sure he can disrupt the line of scrimmage but when they play him at backer, he doesn't look any better than Jaylon Smith with his BIG 5 tackles yesterday....... (5) tackles, what a joke! All this LT talk needs to stophttps://amp.star-telegram.com/sports/nfl/dallas-cowboys/article268715442.html
“No one is going to allows us just to rush, no one is going to allow us to be who we are,” said Parsons, the team’s leading sacker who spent more time playing run defense than rushing the passer against the Packers. “We got to put out this fire. Until we take out this fire, we are going to keep seeing it. If people want to keep doing their own thing, we are going to deal with this all year. We have to put this out. We have to be accountable. We have to stay in our gaps. We have to stop the run. Until we do that, it’s going to be a long year.”
The Cowboys have given up over 200 yards rushing in every game since releasing Trysten Hill after not giving up 200 yards in any game before.. Meanwhile Hill's new team gave up 66 yards rushing in his first game seeing action.
.
Probably just a coincidence though..

LOL.. Yall know I'm kidding right?

Kinda..
I will say this.. earlier in the season most of the damage on the ground was being done on the edges. Yesterday the Packers hit them right in the mouth between the tackles. They never even stopped even after falling behind two screws in the 4th quarter. That's when you know you have a real weakness.. when teams keep going at it even when the score would dictate they shouldn't.
This is going to continue to be a problem for this team.. and frankly I don't know how you address it.. Start Tank and Holston at DE? No matter what people say Parsons can't play DE full time.. He takes too much of a beating there and it's just a matter of time before he gets seriously hurt down there. At some point Quinn is going to have to admit that his 3 safety lineup doesn't work when teams are committed to running right at you. A 215 pound "linebacker" is always going to be a liability against the run. They need to school up Clark VERY quickly. He's faster than Kearse and Wilson anyway and obviously 30 pounds bigger.. He just doesn't know where to go ... yet.
Is this more of a gap containment thing vs just getting beat at the POA?
Maybe some of you XO guys can elaborate on who the culprits may be.
Our DTs suck. Bohanna is not the player they thought he was gonna be
Good question.I think maybe there is some freelancing, the question is it free lancing because players are feeling pressure or is it free lancing to try and get money stats.
The inside is not the problem. DEs are.
People are killing us to the outside.
Parsons is not a DE, never has been (except for pass rushing situations). DFlaw is what he is. The rest of our DEs are the real problem. This will linger till next season.
