Why wouldn't it be?Why is this thread worthy?
Why wouldn't it be?Why is this thread worthy?
Great - the USA, Great Britain and one top sprinter from Jamaica that went to school in the USA 60 years ago was running 100 yards, and the entire rest of the world was running 100 meters. Even if you assume there were a few more truly high level sprinters from other countries going to school in the USA, that's still hardly representative of the world.
The bulk of the world and world population was running in meters, so the bulk of the world didn't even have an opportunity to compete for a record in 100 yards. International competitions were in meters. The Olympics has been running in meters since 1896. Even in the USA the NCAA championships converted to meters in 1975.
And, again, your argument is still meaningless because it doesn't even address what I actually said.
And how many of those were truly top level sprinters that could compete for records?
And how many of them were before 1975 when the NCAA was still running in yards?
And even with "tons" the world is still a lot bigger than The USA, Great Britain and a "ton" of sprinters from other countries that went to USA colleges prior to 1975.
Ultimately, those athletes were not out there competing in the 100 yards against the entirety of the world even before 1975, and they having even been doing it in the USA for 46 years
And, again and again and again, none of this relates to what I wrote anyway.
You're lost. You haven't from the beginning even addressed what I actually said and have had to make up a false version to have anything at all to say, and you are still doing that with everything since. You have to shift context to have anything to write. I'm done with you. Bye now.Where are you trying to go with this, the USA ran the 100 yards it was hand timed. Like every event in track we have a World Record. This confuses you? So we need USA records only.....really?
My man, do you just not get how things were? Lloyd LaBeach from Panama ran a World Record 9.4 while at UCLA, Mike Agostini out of Trinidad ran a World Record 9.3 while at Fresno State. What is the problem?
When an Olympics showed up now ya deal with 100 meters. No problem.

lol, a world record that doesn't involve the world, and isn't even recognized as an official record, and that still has no relevance to the comment you set out to argue against. When you can't figure out why we have a World Record at 100 yards, I saw ya needed some help. So much for tying to be helpful. This is a pout....hahaha!!!!
Dude, what is this ...what I said,....trip?
Only because Cooper would get hurt during the race.I have no doubt Parsons would win. Guy is super-human.
Especially copper. Lamb is already skinny. He’s not getting faster.Sounds like they'd all do well to work on their speed -- it could easily be a beneficial thing for all of them!
C-o-o-p-e-r.Especially copper. Lamb is already skinny. He’s not getting faster.
They are called World records and are still recognized as world recordslol, a world record that doesn't involve the world, and isn't even recognized as an official record, and that still has no relevance to the comment you set out to argue against.

He actually ran a 4.39?!?!
I just looked it up, his AVERAGE time is a 4.6 though, so no way he’s beating Amari though. The 4.39 as his best seems to come from a Tweet from a Penn State account on the TV screen. Per the draft day listing, 4.41 was his best, 4.6 his average and over 5 his slowest.
The numbers are here:
Cooper will dust him. Hand held 40yd time on Cooper was 4.31 and Parsons was 4.36 but the 10 yd split and short shuttle really separates Cooper from Parsons. 3.98 vs. 4.40 shuttle and 1.56 vs. 1.59 10 yd split.
Let the races begin. Oh...Lamb is not even in the discussion with 4.42 40yd time, 1.58 10 yard split, and his official 40yd time was 4.50.
