You make a very valid point here concerning my 70s 'Boys.
I'll just bet Buddy Ryan with his Bounty Bowl on hurting Aikman wasn't the most popular coach amongst Jimmy's 90s crew either.

And least we forget their fans cheering as Irvin lay temporarily paralyzed on their field.

Yeah,
Used to not be so PC and it was better quality ball and at the very least division rivals were considered enemies.

Exactly, and that hatred doesn't really exist outside of maybe the Steelers-Ravens rivalry. The rest of the players probably couldn't care less about rivalries.

Some here seem to forget that Parsons talked alot of crap about the Eagles last year before they went to Philly and beat the Eagles. If we had the success the Eagles have recently had, fans wouldn't be so critical of the Cowboys. I'm sure Parsons respects the fact that the Eagles owner goes all out to bring talent to Philly while Jones sits and does very little to get this team over the hump. I can't blame Parsons for that. The goal is a SB win, not just making the playoffs...

Exactly, and he probably wishes that Jerry would be that proactive......as do I. I wish Roseman was our GM. We'd actually make moves to win SBs.

Micah Parsons is the exact opposite of everyone on this board and I freaking love it!!! The players understand that team owners and Godell are about one thing! His loyalty is to his teammates and the other players in the league and then you fans.

Yup, he is a fierce player, but he is loyal to the players in the league. I'm all for it. Especially considering that Jerry hasn't exactly given us much the last 28 years.

Yes and Parsons was dealing with an groin injury himself this year (granted not as severe as a tear).

People will make this out to be a bigger deal than it really is. Most players in this league consider it a brotherhood of sorts and when not playing, they'll pull for guys they like. Parsons respects Johnson. No skin off my butt but I am sure some of the insecure fans here will have a big problem with it.
Question for you...who are you pulling for in the Super Bowl?

I for one cannot, will not root for the Eagles to win!

I have been in that city and around their fanbase a bunch. Not a nice place. And the hatred they have for us cannot be measured. Remember, this fanbase cheered the day Micheal Irvin laid on that field almost paralyzed on the last play of his career. That was the final nail in the coffin for our last dynasty.

You cannot wear anything Dallas around that fanbase without the real threat of confrontation/altercation!

Question for you. If the Eagles win, which they probably will, is it going have a horrible effect on your life? I can't stand the Eagles but won't lose any sleep over it. Jerry has failed this team since Jimmy left and that's probably not going to change any time soon. His buffoon son will be running the team soon enough. Football is just entertainment. There is much more to life. If the NFL folded tomorrow, we'd all survive...

Exactly!!! Cowboys fans more than any others feel like it’s a privilege to put on the cowboys jersey. It’s the opposite!!! Where parsons plays I will cheer, simple as that! He has opened my eyes to how naive and stupid I have been to be loyal to a franchise that is not loyal to me.

I thought I'd seen it all but now we got a Cowboy rooting for Philly to win the Super Bowl. This is what we are left with...rooting for our arch nemesis to win a Super Bowl for our division. Oh boy!

Not only that, but the owners and players dont care about rivalries, except for maybe Baltimore and Pittsburgh or Cleveland and Pittsburgh (as I live in Cleveland). However, how many times do you see Cowboys and Eagles players swapping jerseys after the game? Heck, there was more hostility yesterday with SFO and Philly than there was with us and then this year. I remember when we played there with Cooper Rush, and one of the Eagles players went right up to Pollard to hug him. The Cowboys and Eagles players seem to like each other when they're not hitting each other. I remember in 2015 when one of the Eagles players, I think it was Fletcher Cox, went up to Romo jokingly begging to be allowed to sack him. The rivalry is for us fans it seems between us and Philly. The hostilities between the players, coaches, and owners doesn't seem to be that prevalent. The hostilities seem to be strictly between the fans about players that like each other. Heck, with Parsons being from PA, he probably trains with some of the Eagles players in the offseason.

Yup, and it's not like Jerry or the players care. I'd love for KC to win. However, I've got a lot of family that are Eagles fans, and I vacation on the Jersey Shore. I'd hate it if the Eagles win, but then I'd wake up the next morning and work like I would any other time. Let's face the facts. Jerry built a cheap tent of a team thinking we'd rebuild, but, instead, the team fought and made it to the division round. However, they weren't supposed to win the SB this year. We were supposed to be rebuilding from what we saw in the offseason. Heck, the team wasn't supposed to be in the playoffs with what Jerry had built. The Eagles, on the other hand, built their team for this. I know some here will send me flack, but it's the cold hard truth.

I'd especially love for KC to win as I lived there for a year. Still, like I said, I wouldn't lose any sleep if the Eagles won. Sorry, they built a better team, and the Cowboys team doesn't care. I would imagine Parsons is far from the only one on our team that is pulling for Lane Johnson's team. He's just the only one saying it.

Not all the players buy into the rivalries like the fans do. Micah is just more open and honest than the average NFL player. Its still not quite the NBA where a lot of the players show themselves hanging out, high fiving and giving each other kudos once the game is over.

I hope anybody that is bothered by this is under the age of 21. No way a mature adult should should see a problem with this

Of course it will not effect my life...but I still won't root for them and their fans...who are already obnoxious...might sink to a new low.

Micah is the anti-Irvin. He has zero loyalty to the franchise.
He is a different cat and doesn't always give fans the quotes they want. He set the stage with his "no problem with the PA teams, likes them both".

Why should he have loyalty to this franchise? Because they drafted him?

I think loyalty in the NFL is an illusion, it is 100% business. Every player is a merc.

Our arch nemesis, not his. Most of these players could care less and a hell of a lot of the Cowboys players might rather play for the Eagles.

That rivalry thing is over, FA fixed that. History is only important to the fans, the players assume they'll be moving on,

If that's true, then maybe I'm rooting for the wrong team?
