Is anyone really surprised that Cooper is playing well for Cleveland? Cooper was always a good WR. He is one of the best route runners in the game. He can get open. That has never been the problem with Cooper.

Even so, I had no problem with Dallas trading Cooper.

The problem I always had was the way they dealt him. First Jerry and Fredo go to the media and trash talk Cooper. Then they reveal they want to deal him. Then they say if they can't work out a trade they will cut him. It is not shocking that the best they could get was a 5th round pick. And just for giggles, that 5th round pick was also waived and was picked up by the Washington Commanders. So basically all Dallas has to show for trading one of the best WR in the league is swapped 6th round picks with the Browns! If you want an example of incompetence in the front office, this is surely one good one.

As I have said since day one of the Cooper trade, there was no need for the desperation. Offering Cooper up in a trade was not a bad decision. Cooper is not the competitive player you'd like in a #1 WR. But, you gave up a first round pick to get him, at least demand a 2nd for him. If no one offers a second, then restructure his contract and keep him. I would rather have had a 2nd round pick for him but I could live with him being on the team. He makes the team better. He makes Dak better because Cooper can get open against zone defenses. Maybe he could have been traded during the season the way he came to Dallas.

I have no doubt Cooper will have a good year in Cleveland if he doesn't get hurt.

I'm partial to the argument about not spending your cap on receivers. There's an argument for it.
What I couldn't see was paying Gallup and Schultz *instead* of Cooper. If you're going to spend on a WR, spend it on a difference maker.

Definition of difference maker.

2 straight 100 yard games.

Cowboys desperately need one of those, who would have thought.

In no reality is Gallup + Shultz better than Amari Cooper.

I like Cooper and think he is great. In 3 games this season he had 17 vs Panthers, 101 vs Jets in a losing effort and then last night 101 vs Steelers. Not exactly tough competition.

I'll take those 2 one hundred yard games and 2 TDs right now.

Again I like Cooper have nothing against him. I will say Cleveland offense runs though Nick Chubb, how he goes so goes the Cleveland offense.

The entire Cooper saga in Dallas could be used to sum up the entire post J Johnson era of the Jones ownership.

Would be same in Dallas, offense goes through RB.

Similar to 90's Cowboys dynasty.

And?

Yes except you are doing it for under 20 mill a season. Dallas I felt got bad trade value, will not argue that at all but the reason for Cooper release had a hell of a lot to do with cap space

Parsons tweets support for his friend and ex teammate, and it immediately turns into a negative thread.
This place is insane. Two games into the season cherry picked to perfection with one game from last season. Let's see how the numbers look at the END of the season.

Cooper played his best football in Dallas. I bet that bothers some here.

Coop was a fan favorite and has top 5 wide receiver talent. You don't let a guy like that go for no reason and we're the second team to do it. That says a lot.

An attitude like his will permeate through an entire team and he had problems with Dak Prescott in the locker room according to several reports. We're going with wide receiver by committee and so far in game 2 it worked incredibly well. We did miss him game one but I'm not sure him playing would have made a difference. I don't think Randy Moss and Jerry Rice would have made a difference with how Dak showed up and played.
Jerry Dumbo GM Jones drafting Cee Dee Lamb when he need defense was the problem. Jerry is always trying to prove he is a great GM selling Arlington Jonesboys on Lamb being a top 5 pick. If so how many teams passed on Lamb? How many TDs Cooper has with a back up QB in Cleveland? How many does Lamb have?

Amari Cooper had a Pro Bowl stat year with Dak out for the season. Some people forget that Cooper played for Nick Saban and was his true no.1 WR setting Alabama Records held by Julio Jones. So Cowboys need Cooper and Cooper does not need the Cowboys.

We’re mAd at our front office. The initial Oakland Amari trade and then the Cleveland one make no sense.

they handle Randy Gregory and Pac-Man Jones etc. but Amari cooper is gone Bc why? Shady. We lose Bc of asset mismanagement like this.

The QB has to throw that football while the WR is in his break. You know that doesn't work here!

It did work here once.

Dak and Amari worked beautifully together.

2018-2020 was not that long ago.

Don't worry, I'm sure you'll get your chance to be happy, when Amari has a few crappy games, or breaks his leg or something.
That wouldn't make me happy. Don't assume that you know me like that. I'm simply not happy that they let the only true WR1 go without a replacement. If they had signed a replacement we wouldn't be having this conversation.

The line was different, the running game was different and you're still waiting that extra second to pull the trigger on timing patterns. Dak is not very good in that department. And he had 865 yards last year.. How beautiful was that?

Cowboys were too reliant on pass last season.

That is fault of KM and MM.

Cowboys strength is always been run first to set up pass.
