Micah's price about to go up again?

This is absolutely what Jerry has been waiting for, for ALL players to sign at said position, but first we have to say we don't have money, we want him to stay long term, HAS TO be a good deal for both parties etc etc, the player will not be at camp etc, then BOOM all is well, right before the game BREAKING NEWS said player has a new deal, history repeats itself!
And that would be total BS on Jerry's part.

Micah will become the highest paid defensive player in NFL history, that is Jerry's goal, he has already said as much and it will probably happen on the day Dallas plays their first game of the 2025-26 season in the effort to steal headlines away from Philly's raising their World Championship banner and then putting a beat down on Dallas at home.

I mean it's pretty much a marketing dream for Jerry, has one team ever had the highest paid offensive and defensive players on the same team?

Trade him. He will not be worth the money or trouble. Find some players that want to take the team seriously instead of playing with his plastic microphone. He won't even attend OTA's, yet wants to be a leader? A leader grows up, this kid hasn't yet.
NO SMART human wirth as much as he is would show up to play football without a future contract in place!! Are you that special there id have to explain it to you?

Folks, I'm betting he is no re-signed.

1) They are waiting and waiting, the price keeps going up. If you really wanted the player why would you allow this to happen,
2) You had chance to bring in a defensive scheme that would have played to his strengths and pro-longed his career. Instead you do the complete opposite.

If I'm Parsons I'm not playing another snap without a new contract. And for I'm telling Jerry the price has just jumped 5 mil in the last couple months from 40 to 45 mil and will be going to 50 mil by the start of the season. Or trade me and I'll play for the Eagles or 49ers for 38 mil a season.

Curious what percent of the salary cap Emmitts salary was, and if its a comparable percentage
Good question. I'm pretty sure the Cowboys were middle of the road in total team salary in '92 and '93. Wasn't '93 when the cap first started? My guess is that Emmitt was nowhere near 15% of the cap.

That makes no sense. Of course it absolutely will have a bearing on Micah
Of course it will. My question is, in what world does Parsons deserve what Watt is making? Because he's younger? Because he has leverage? He has both. What he doesn't have is Watt's talent. Sorry, I gotta say it. I've seen Watt end games with strip sacks and scoop and scores. I can't seem to recall any of that from Parsons in crunch time.

I agree, and I also think the rb position at that point in the NFL was extremely valuable which I think would make it at least on par with a premium edge rusher

It's hilarious the extremes on both sides.

Jerry has paid EVERY big time player. What player that we really wanted to keep left because Jerry wouldn't give them a market level deal?

Philly couldn’t sign some of the defensive players that were instrumental to their success last season. No way they can afford Micah Parsons. There is a limit.

Jerry should have run to Micah with a contract offer 2 minutes after Micah made the comment he did not have to be the highest paid player at his position. That was the time to sit with Micah and work out a deal for less than $40 million.

I know some people do not respect the CAP but it is there and it makes sense to work with it. Save $3 million in CAP space on each of your top 5 players and that's $15 million in CAP space per year. Maybe that money helps keep one or two of your top guys around, or it means signing a free agent.

You know what I find interesting. That same tactic could work today. It's a numbers game. Pick your poison. Great OL, RB, FB, WRs. Who are you going to stop? Irvin absolutely embarrassed his one on one coverage in SB 27. Hell, the 49ers were so worried about Emmitt and Irvin that Alvin Harper received one of the biggest plays in Cowboys history in '92. Also keep in mind that the early 90s Cowboys didn't run any plays from shotgun. Most teams did.

Weed smoker guy that went to denver.

He was playing good and at a high profile position. You can argue he was never a super star. But he was balling and left over contract stuff
