Michael Irvin criticizing Roy Williams

Michael also once said this season that Austin hates contact and can be easily handled at the LOS, which is complete BS.

I don’t remember him saying that but i remember Mike Jenkins saying Roy Williams didn’t like contact.

Was it Jenkins who said it or Scandrick? Just wondering, since it always seemed to be him and Roy colliding in practice.

Michael irvin says..

Michael irvin says..

Michael irvin says.

Who cares what he says. Or his buddy.

The last wr irvin "tried to help" was stanbach last year. How did that work out.

Michael Irvin said last year at camp after working with the wr....I use that term loosely, that there was NO top wr or guys who could make plays outside of owens.

So honestly who cares what he says.

Jenkins started the conversation. It was about Roy and Austin, both.

I suppose the play maker has no credibility with the Kool Aid drinkers either.:laugh2:

i'll forever be amazed that people can go through life with only 2 options and 2 possibilities to any story.

theirs and the diametric opposite, so they always assume anyone NOT on their side is WAY OVER THERE.

whole lot of middle ground you miss just so you can hit todays quota of haha emotes.

So it was intentionally irrelevant to my post?

Odd.

About as irrelevant as your post was to Irvin's suggestion.

This video shows more of those against the body catches.

It takes a team effort for Roy and Romo to be so out of synch. We can argue about who should get more or less blame, but there is plenty of blame to around on this one (Roy, Romo, and their coaches).

The majority (i.e., greater than 50%) of incomplete passes to Roy in the past few games have been the result of either being off-target or miscommunication on an option route.

The point of my post was that Irvin's advice, if heeded by Roy, would have very little impact on his production this year. If you fix the off-target throws and the option route problems, the conversation isn't even happening.

Worst. Soundtrack. Ever.

But look what he did with Jesse Holley!!!

True but Roy has dropped balls so you can't immediately dismiss Irvin's comments. If Roy was flawless this year then we could call Irvin all sorts of names if we liked but Roy has let easy catches hit the ground.

So, if he took Irvin's advice, and it worked, how many drops would it reverse? One? Two maybe?

Very little impact on this season. That was my point.

I'd listen to ANYTHING the playmaker has to say but as a former WR (in my own way) I wouldn't change my technique to catching the ball with my body across the middle. I understand it, but for years the only way I've known how to do it is with your hands. Irvin has a point because those catches across the middle are difficult and the ball is more liable to come down, whether or not a WR implements that is up to him because chances are they've been told all along to avoid catching it with your body. As I said though, I'd listen and show Irvin nothing but respect.

Hey. 2 catches, when you only have like 14, is a decent amount.

Irvin didn't always catch the ball with his body, just when he was anticipating a hit, to protect the ball.

It goes counter to how catching is usully taught, but you can't argue with the results.

Perfect example of what Irvin is talking about- look at the 2:00 mark in the video. Caught the ball, protected himself and took a big hit all in one motion.

Michael Irvin said that Roy was like, "Yeah I hear ya, but I don't like to do that".

Michael Irvin says that Roy Williams just doesn't listen and maybe this adversity is the best thing to happen too him.

Michael Irvin says this adversity would make Roy Williams listen.

Michael Irvin says he is making a lot money but not putting it together on the football field.

Michael Irvin says he was trying to talk to Roy and give him advice, but felt Roy didn't want it.

Michael Irvin said I tried to tell Roy that I had a job to due and had to analyze the Cowboys and the players. Michael told him, personally, I want the Cowboys to win more than anyone.

Michael Irvin says that in Detroit, you can hide but in Dallas you cannot hide. It will be national news and the media will come down on you when you make that kind of money and not producing.

I don't know if Michael Irvin really said this. Can I get another "Michael Irvin says" just to confirm? :p:

It would help if 9 would throw it in his general area code too.

And what area code is it when Romo hits Roy in the hands, where he is supposed to, and Roy drops it?

I think it is still called the 411 area code, because both of these guys are lost with each other.

Irvin speaks, Roy best listen. Everyone should listen when Irvin speaks.
