His ability to play in the NFL should be completely reliant on his own skills to play the game and not some forced thing from the league simply because they want good PR.

I agree with you but the NFL would get hammered if Sam didn't get picked up. He was going on 3 days without a single offer to sign anywhere else on another team p-squad.

That's my point, why bring the circus into town when he's only going to be on the practice squad. This guy isn't that good, and his talent isn't worth the trouble.

Only people who don't like his sexual orientation considers it a "circus". The rest consider it positive news (even though it's over done).

He played well in pre-season, had a good college career. The fact you mentioned not "subscribing" to another posters way of thinking, shows your real problem with all this.

Like another poster said, having black players in professional sports was probably considers a circus too, by haters. lol

What negative things can happen? I'm really curious, give us some solid examples of how bad this can turn out.

Tin foil hat time:

- There was no pre-draft interest on Michael Sam from the Cowboys, apparently wasn't even on their board.
- Sam gets cut from the Rams, and get no offers from any team to sign on their PS.
- Brent's suspension decision is still looming/to be announced.
- Jerry has info on the Brent decision per 105.3 The Fan but can't say anything in an interview this morning
- Schefter speculates that the Cowboys may have "negotiated" a deal to sign Sam to the PS.

I take it you're the type of guy who is still scouring the Zapruder film for Badgeman.

sam has 6 pre-season sacks, dallas has 5.

exactly, I hear he is no good well he did some good things in pre season enough so that he should be brought in even if it is PS. This other stuff who cares? He is not out making it rain, not getting busted for drugs or DUI/DWI hell there are some guys who may be hetro but are a lot more of a distraction than Sam

Makes sense. This team is desperate for pass rushers and the prominent players on this team seem like they would be pretty accepting.

And the rest of the slop is too desperate to make any waves.

"Must be something else" this is all you have clowns have because you hate it when someone else doesn't subscribe to your way of thinking. This is about his talent not matching his circus, and he's not worth the trouble.

Well it depends. Are we talking Ringling Brothers or are we talking Shriners?

Awards in College really don't mean a great deal in the NFL. Something like 32 Heisman winners have been QBs. Of those, only three have been inducted into the HOF and that's only if you count Horning. He was a QB at Notre Dame but a running back in the Pros.

So, basically if we signed Sam we get Josh Brent?

LOL

We "negotiated" this deal for Brent like it was some sort of shady dealing in parking garage?

The "circus" idea is greatly over-exaggerated. It wasn't a huge distraction in StL, and he played pretty well in the preseason. This is a blip on the circus radar compared to the stuff Jerry normally does or says.

Let me take credit for that rumor...I think I started it.

Get out of here dude, my issue is that this guy isn't that good, his awards in college mean nothing to me. He's a circus, and his talent doesn't match it.

There are lots of players on this team who "isn't that good". If we tossed out all the players who aren't that good, Romo and Dez would be playing both ways.

Forget the circus aspect. This team is run by Jerry Jones, the ultimate clown.

the signing gives us 3 former SEC defensive players of the year currently under contract.

sam had 6 pre-season sacks... in the NFL. do those count?
