This isn't really a thread about Michael Sam, however I'll start the conversation with him. The Rams have 8 defensive lineman spots sown up and may only keep 9, which means Sam, who had 2 sacks yesterday and 3 in the preseason, might be practice squad material.

Obviously Sam has been more impressive than most of the Dallas defensive line, which is probably from top to bottom the worst in the league right now.

The point here is, however, the Rams are just 1 of 30 other teams with better defensive line talent and there is bound to be some people cut or added to PSquads that are superior to players on Dallas' roster.

The ONLY advantage of being the worst at a position is that you can upgrade with others castaways.

If Dallas doesn't do this, then its inexcusable.

I mean the team is going to be terrible this year either way, but not upgrading this group is unfathomable.

Screw it, might as well give the guy a look. It literally cannot be any worse than it is right now, and I'd definitely be willing to see what happens with Sam.

Any team lacking on the DL should and will snatch him up. Dallas needs to be one of those teams if they have a shot, IMO.

I would take a look at him. He's shown ability and fire and I like it. He seems to be a very high motor guy, and the only guy on the line that I've seen who has a motor like that is Mincey.

Well he didn't really give a reason why he wouldn't check him out if cut. So that would be the conclusion most would come to IMO

Catch's point is that for any other player on the planet, you would not have to explain yourself. It is assumed that you mean you don't want the player for football reasons. It was actually the response that was the over reaction.

Personally, I think he will make someone's team on merit.

I would definitely take a chance on him. He has shown bursts of ability to excel at the NFL and is dangerous coming off of that edge. I wouldn't be upset at all if they scooped him up.

Then again, for any other player on the planet at his position with his preseason production, it's pretty unlikely the reaction to taking a look at the guy would have been " nope, nope, nope. "

Maybe we can trade themWeeden for Sam, since its being reported Bradford is out for season.

I could care less what your sexual orientation is, but there are just too many distractions that go along with signing him.

This much is true. It'd be a field day for a few weeks in Dallas.

I don't think the guy hits the open market, anyway.

Basically, there is only one legitimate opinion about the issue of Michael Sam.

Can he help?

If the answer is yes, then you should hope the team pursues him. If the answer is no, then you should hope the team pursues someone else.

Frankly, anything other than that, means you are a lousy fan.

I personally don't care about his lifestyle outside of the field. But like cowboyfan4lief2 said, the celebrity that has come of Michael Sam....I personally don't think the distraction is worth it. This team already has enough media attention. If it was just another guy i'd be down for it but its more than that. Its the TO signing. Its the Pac-Man Jones signing.

I'm on the same boat as you, however, others will involve politics.

There's no politics involved. The same reason why I wouldn't want Sam is the same reason why I wouldn't want Ocho Cinco, TO or Pac-Man Jones(earlier in his career when we got him). I just want football players. I don't want the circus that comes with them. That's the least thing this team needs.
