Saints are a fraud for losing to a pretty good team, while the Vikings are not after getting pummeled by a below average team...

Go figure.

In their world of hyperbole, "Fraud" is a powerful word these TV/radio sports guys like to use. It's one extreme or the other. Teams are either great or they are a fraud. Super or pathetic. There's nothing in between.

And guys like Wilbon spew this crapola by yelling at the top of their lungs. For added emphasis.

PTI is unwatchable. All I see are two sellout newspaper columnists with faces made for radio, yelling nonsense at each other.

I can definitely see that happening as well. That is why I continue to say that in order to beat Minn you have to make Favre beat you because if Peterson beats you, you have no shot.

My stance on the entire situation 4 plus weeks ago was that neither the Saints or the Vikings would win the NFC. It just seems to me that teams come flying out of nowhere to win this conference year after year. Let's just hope the Cowboys are that team this year!

Odds are that one will make it to the SB simply because they own the two byes. But, I do think they are both vulnerable and someone more tested like AZ or Philly could get through.

As for Dallas, they've shown that they can play - and even beat - any team in the league. But right now they have to secure a playoff spot first, which isn't a 100% lock. Then they'd have to show they can win a game in the postseason. But this isn't a year where there is a team like the '85 Bears or '92-'93 Cowboys, etc that would be head and toes better than us. It's just that the odds would be greatly stacked against Dallas having to win three playoff games in a row, when they haven't won one in the last 13 years. But on paper, this team stacks up with any other in the NFC and can beat any of them, imo. Just doing it three weeks in a row would be a huge hurdle to jump.

Maybe they aren't as good as their hype or their 13-1 record, but I do know they are tough to beat at home with that crowd and that offense.

24-17. Eat that Wilbon.

The Vikings and Cowboys are just a really bad matchup for the Saints.

We can both play their type of game but we both have more physical teams and better defenses.

No chance in heck would I consider the Vikings frauds before the Saints. The Vikings play a playoff winning brand of football. They play solid defense, they can run the ball, and if you don't stop their running game, they can also throw the ball. The Vikings would annihilate the Saints H2H, that is a terrible matchup for NO. Football is ALL about matchups, and the Saints do not matchup well vs Minn.

In order to beat Minnesota you have to stop AD. Look at the teams who have beaten them recently, they both shut down Peterson. If you shutdown Peterson you force Favre to beat you and that gives you the best chance to win. The NO Saints have 0 chance of shutting down Peterson. Plus J. Allen would feast on that Bushwhacker they have at LT.

With both Sedrick Ellis and Scott Fujita healthy the Saints do have what it takes to stop Peterson. Six of the seven games that Ellis has started and played the full game the Saints have held their opponents to under 100 yards rushing.

Winner Winner...Arizona and Philly also fall in that mold, to a little bit lesser of an extent, but both will give NO a run for their money.

The Saints are most definitely not a fraud.

The Cowboys played the way they are capable of and beat them.

It happens.

They are a good team. Now that does not mean they will goto or win the Superbowl but calling them frauds is foolish at best.
And they would be suddenly "legitimate" had they won Saturday.

Gay is nothing special.

Yeah, I agree. It's really the combination of Greer and Gay that's been such a blow to their secondary. It's forced them to get guys off the street (McKenzie, McAlister) to fill the void.

But I'm sure missing Columbo and Hamlin certainly contributed to are recent losses to the Giants and SD.

The eagles have significant injuries to their OL and LB core and have managed to win 5 straight.

Chargers have multiple injured defensive players right now.

What team has it's opening day projected starting 22?

I'm not sure what your point is. I'm not trying to defend the Saints or excuse their loss to us. I'm pointing out how fragile they are. Their depth is fairly suspect.

The Panthers have even less to offer to stop the run than the Saints do and I did not see Peterson doing much against them either.

I personally do not see either NO or Minn winning the NFC...I said about a month ago, mostly speaking from my heart, but some of it from my brain..The NFC will be represented by the NFCE, it appears either Dallas or Philly at this point. At least it does to me.

Saints were missing #1 CB #3 CB #1 DT #1 TE #1 RB for that game. You can also throwin #1 OT, but he is on injured reserve. We get back all the above for the playoffs. Then we will see what's what.

The Cowboys just beatup on a great team. Is that so hard for Cowboy detractors to understand?

The Saints area proven team. We just steamrolled them when everybody else could not!

BTW, the morons in the national media have nothing to do with what occurs on the field. People who actually take their opinions as some sort of fact are stupid by nature and can't think for themselves.

Cardinals were in the superbowl last year, and none of those fools would even dare say or think that. Grow up.
