What if: The saints trade down to say 8 or 9 ,, then we could package Romo, #18 and maybe a 3rd next year to move up to 8 or 9,, take huff, The saints would get their back up QB, still be high enough to draft BPA between OT or WR plus several more picks in day 1 to build a team. Not likely but you never know.

I have NEVER used this smilie. But..

:lmao:

Now hear this. Romo has no value.

One has to actually get in a game and perform to have value.

I would love Huff in this Draft. I wonder if we offered Ellis and our 1 to move up 5 to 8 spots, would that be enough? But nothing other than that. No more draft picks or anything like that.
my thoughts exactly, I would maybe throw in a 4th next year, I'm looking at Buff at the 8 spot, maybe it one of those things, u hook me up i hook u up. Ellis and #18, I can see that happening.

What is truly amazing is that some people are arguing with you and don't believe Bush is going to be a good player. Dallas could offer Houston its entire draft and Houston would still laugh at us.

I really dont understand how someone could say they have really watched him play and come to the conclusion that he is overrated and has a great chance to bust...to me thats just somebody that is saying it in the hopes that it actually happens, so they can come back later and say "see see!!! I said he would bust!!!"

he might bust, nobody is a 100% for certain star...but based off his physical talent and what he did on the field, he seems destined for stardom the way Tony Dorsett and Barry Sanders were...players with his kind of tools dont come along often...honestly I think he is by far the safest pick in the draft and a true franchise altering kind of talent...he will put points on the board and will force teams to come up with some elaborate game plannning to take him away or slow him down

I'm not comparing anyone to anyone, I'm saying that you can call someone a "once a decade talent" until Jesus come sback, that does not make it so.

This coming from someone that says Randall Cunningham was a better QB than Troy Aikman.:laugh2:

nobody said taht bush isnt going to be good, im just saying the hype on him is bogus, ive already stated why i dont think he is going to be as good as people say. hes over-rated by a mile and shouldnt be defined as the sure shot #1 pick, i personally dont see a running back with that style becoming anything in a league as fast as the NFL.

I think its going to surprise some people where Huff ends up in the first round. Huff is a good player and I hope he ends up in Dallas, but he's not a gamechanger and he doesn't make game changing plays. A team just isn't going to spend a Top 15 pick on a non premium position like free safety when he doesn't make game changing plays. I think he's going to be sitting there around 14-17, so I'm glad Dallas is doing their homework on him because there will be a decision to make.

We just paid Ellis money so he could stay in dallas not leave. we would never trade him. Although, the thought is intriguing being able to move up a few picks without sacraficing any later picks... but, one musn't dream beacuse it would never happen.

Not a chance he drops and not a chance we move up. Saying that you still do your due diligence in case things happen.

i'm also in that 1 out of 10 who think bush will be a bust....at rb. i think he'd make a solid wr. his body can't handle the pain and punishment a rb takes running up the middle and he won't be able to jump around like he did in college.

as for huff...great talent. he will get a shot at cb first wherever he goes. if he doesn't pan out at cb then he will move to fs. cb is the premium position, not fs. whoever drafts him will try him there first.

I don't remember much of Tiki Barber when he is in college, but BUsh is bigger than Barber and way more athletic. I would have to say that Tiki is a big time pain in our Arse.

The other thing you have to consider about Bush is that he is simply exciting to watch. What would the lions of the 90's be without Barry Sanders? They never went anywhere with or without Sanders, but no one, outside of Detroit, would have bothered to watch the Lions if it hadn't been for Barry Sanders.

If only this made any sense

Exactly.

It makes no sense for someone who thinks Randall is better than Troy to tell someone else they don't know what they are talking about.

Looks like they beat NFL News by a day on this one...........

Huff Visiting Dallas Monday

Michael Huff By: Roy Philpott
TheRanchReport.com
Date: Apr 13, 2006

This former Texas star will be one of many NFL Draft prospects at Valley Ranch early next week.

According to multiple published reports and now confirmed by TheRanchReport.com, former Texas safety Michael Huff will visit with the Dallas Cowboys Monday, April 17.

The former Longhorn standout is a two-time All-Conference selection who won the Thorpe Award as the nation's top defensive back in 2005. He finished his senior season second on the team in tackles with 109. He also recorded 14 passes broken up and an interception.

Huff, much like Tennessee's Jason Allen and Virginia Tech's Jimmy Williams, is another defensive back prospect that could be tried at multiple positions in the NFL, including cornerback and free safety.

For the Cowboys, the team needs immediate help at free safety. Last year's starter, restricted free agent Keith Davis, has signed an offer sheet with the New Orleans Saints and may not be back with the team in 2006.

In addition, Dallas also wants a free safety that is better suited in coverage situations to compliment the play of strong safety Roy Williams, who likes to make plays at the line of scrimmage.

While many experts consider Huff to go early in the first round, the Cowboys will still bring him in for a visit to Valley Ranch Monday.

Scout.com currently ranks Huff as the No. 1 safety prospect eligible for the upcoming NFL Draft.

Huff is one of at least four safety prospects the Cowboys have shown significant interest in this off-season. For the complete list of all draft-
eligible players that TheRanchReport.com has documented interest in by the Cowboys, please visit TheRanchReport.com Premium Message Board.

So which is the smoke screen here? No safety in rd 1, Bringing Huff in, or the whole move someone we have to FS. Remember, most think Huff can play both FS and CB. I still like Jason Allen better then Huff since the reports of failed physicals, were bogus, per NFL Radio. I'm kinda intrigued by this kid from FL state,Pat Watkins. Then again I like Daryn Colledge, Boise State

Jammer was nowhere near as athletic or fluid as Huff is...Huff also ran fast at the combine and when you watch his game film, he looks fast on the field...Jammer ran a bogus 4o-time once (on the fast track at UT) but when you watched him in games (and in the NFL since) he was nowhere near that fast on the field

Totally agree.

Bush is the best college back I've seen in a lot of years. Think Tony Dorsett, but bigger and more versatile.

To watch people find all these holes in his game is comical. This is a very special player.
