Mickey: make no bones about run intentions

Context.

A mediocre coach can win with elite talent. Elite coaching cant win with mediocre talent though. Eagles have an elite roster
ok.... start going back.... No Mahomes, Reid has no rings. No Brees, Peyton has no ring. No Rodgers, Mike has no ring, No Manning Dungy has no ring, .... just keep going, its pretty easy.

Trevor Etienne
Jarquez Hunter
Brashard Smith
Damien Martinez
Donovan Edwards
Raheim Sanders
LeQuint Allen
Tahj Brooks
The only one worthy is Brashard Smith. Seriously doubt he makes it past the 4th round. The rest on your list are RBs expected to go in the 5th, 6th or 7th rounds.

I don't think you're proving what you think you are but we'll just call this the end buddy. Good day

Good article from Mickey. Straight forward about the run game and plans.
And reasons why Schotty selected the coaches he did to help the run game
No company fluff stuff this time.

"Because as former Cowboys quarterbacks, offensive coordinator and head coach Jason Garrett reminded me a few weeks ago while giving his thoughts on the career of Zack Martin, running the football "is certainly how (Brian's) dad built teams for years. They used to call him Marty Ball. It was almost to a fault. They were going to run the ball, play defense, special teams, and the issue was they would have good teams. They'd get to the playoffs, and they couldn't go to that next step because maybe they weren't balanced enough the other way. But he won a lot of games playing that way."
Are you attempting to pretend like the HC has authority to make decisions in Dallas???

That hasn’t happened since the last SB. Well, Last Jimmy SB. Maybe Parcels to a degree.

But maybe, just maybe the new HC has some say so for his 1st year. Some, not all.

Well if Shotty was in control, I don't believe he would have the exact same FA as last year.

Ok. I just need somebody to explain how running the ball more is going to get the team over the hump.

Saying we are going to run more is fine.

But they also need the defense and they need big plays from the passing game too if they want to win a title.

I was making the exact point I wanted. All NFL coaches are pretty much a dime a dozen. They are all good. and none of them will ever win without the talent.

Hahaha... I knew it. I just knew it was a matter of time before the old "we're going to run the ball, we're going to play defense, and WE'RE GOING TO PLAY SPECIAL TEAMS" line that every new coach for a bad team had used over the decades emerged here. Every team runs the ball, plays defense, and plays special teams. Thats called football. It's just stating the obvious, but repackaging it as some type of unique mantra

I think I'll do that at my job today. Let me try:

"Guys....I'm looking to become the CEO of the multi national company I work at. I know.... today I'll GET IN MY CAR... GET GAS ON THE WAY TO WORK... MAYBE STOP OFF AT STARBUCKS FOR A CUP OF COFFEE AND A MUFFIN. And when I get to work, IM GOING TO PARK MY CAR, and THEN SIT DOWN AT MY DESK!!!! Also, IM GOING TO ANSWER EMAILS!!!!! AND THEN...AND THEN....ILL EAT MY LUNCH!!!!!!"

you guys blown away, or what? Inspired? GROWLING?!?!?!?!

I think running the ball successfully can effect a team more than any other aspect.

1) Keep their defense on the field and tired
2) Keep our defense off the field and fresh
3) Clock control and management.
4) Dictate the pace of the game...faster/slower
5) Not as hard on the o-line (extended pass protection tires them out?)

And yes...of course they still need deep threats and a defense that CAN shut it down. Of course all aspects need to be strong as it all works and spins together... but an effective run game does so much.
